What is with all these injuries? I think we seriously need a new strength and conditioning coach as these guys are nowhere near playing condition. Seriously who is this bum we should fire him instantly !!!

I've been thinking about this for a few years now. I don't know anything about the guy we have now, but the injury bug has been killing us. How is the guy we have now? Would someone new help?

Maybe what we think is a lot of injuries is really the norm for all teams. Does any of us really pay attention to other teams injuries? It's a violent sport man, I'm surprised there aren't people carted off the field every week.

he did OTAs and stuff with the team this year instead of skipping them and working with his usual guy ... and I bet someone is willing to blame his calf injury on that :D

I think it must be looked at. Not saying that these people are doing thier job wrong.
Just in the overall BIG picture. Same as when grading OL talent, this MUST also be looked at.

A strength and conditioning coach can only prevent so many injuries.

So true. We are hyper-sensitive to the Steelers' injuries because we are hyper-focused on them. Age has caught up with some of the guys, like James and Troy. But I have done a little poking around, and in comparison to teams I have looked at, the the Steelers have had more games missed due to injury on the O/L than others, from 2009+.

I have 2 thoughts as to why guys are getting hurt so much all around the NFL....The Speed of the game and all the passing Teams are doing I count as 1....
The next being the CBA practice rules..Guys just are not ready for contact IMO,Teams need more padded practices...

I have known a lot of Teams who practice light all the time and they seem to get hurt a lot even in High School...I guess I am Old school because if you can't take the hits in practice how can you take them in the game ??

Strength and conditioning has very little to do with 300lb men crashing into your knees, visual migraines...
