I think you're on to something. But I'm going to tweak your analogy just a bit.

Tomlin is the guy who gets the Ferrari and grinds the gears and is too heavy footed on the gas and brakes. He won't run it into a tree, but everyone around him can't believe how bad he is at driving it. He lets AB drive it and gets it wrapped around a pole. His insurance rates go through the roof and he's relegated to taking the bus or bumming rides from his mom. So instead of driving a super-car, he keeps the key fob and sets it on the bar where everyone can see it.

He’s actually only been the general manager for the last 10 years.

Been back and fourth about how I feel about Tomlin for many years. For the longest time I would defer issues to other personnel until I realised he is at the helm and as such responsible for this team. Kudos to him for lighting a fire under this teams arse but I am still not comfortable with Tomlin. He is inconsistent and you never know what your going to get. We are stuck with him now because he has being able to win a few games with a depleted team. Kudos to him but I still dont think he has the IT factor to get it done.. Wins are great for teams like the Browns or Bengals but more then wins Pittsburgh Steeler fans expect championships.. So lets get it !!!

Another Tomlin post. Damn, how many so far this season and before? So many fickle people that will sing praises one day and if we loss in typical Tomlin fashion against the sub 500 Browns, how so many of those will want him fired again. Hard to keep up with all this fluctuating. This is a week to week season for the Steelers as we can win or lose equally against anyone and our destiny can be one more loss and one Rats win away. SO, on to the very cold mistake on the lake where they most certainly be up for this game and see how our HC latest test score will look. .

I've already said several times Tomlin needs to beat the bottom feeders before he is back in good standing. And yes, he will definitely be in the running for coach of the year if the Steelers keep winning. Whether you like it or not. Your opinion and my opinion don't mean squat. :smiley1:

I guess we'll find out soon enough if he progresses in getting back in good standing starting tonight.

If we win the games we are supposed to win were in the playoffs. 5-2 down the stretch gets in i believe, we should go 6-0 with just the Rats game looming large. 11-4 going into week 17 winning 10 straight.

I wish I could be that optimistic, but Steelers will probably drop one vs. Cardinals or Jets.

Well that's what I am saying, if they do lose to the Cards or Jets its the same old song and dance. Good regular season coach wins some games, but can't win when your supposed to. That's who Tomlin is until he can show something different. I think he has the chance in the next 7 weeks to " put a stamp on his work" " own it".

Would we be expecting a loss to the Jets or Cards if Tomlin wasn't the coach and our pretend coach has not shown the ability year after year to blow big meaningful games that should be Wins. If they are PREPARED and play sound without turning it over they should win the next 6 no questions. I guarantee that other playoff fan bases don't expect to drop a game to the Cards, Jets, Browns, Bengals, Bills so why should we. MIKE TOMLIN that's why.

New England lost to 5 nonplayoff teams in 2018, I guess they weren't prepared to play .

Fixed it for you. Still ticked off about that joke of a roughing the passer penalty. Should have been a win.

    So Ill go through it,
@Jags played in the AFC Champ the year before and should have beaten them Not a bad loss
@ Lions vs Patricia 1st time, Det fired up but bad loss
@ Tenn vs Vrabel 1st time (I think) Tenn was avg in my opnion not sub par bad loss
@ Miami lost on incredible last play fluke loss
@ Pitt should have beaten them the year before, revenge game Steelers were not a bad team, not a bad loss

    2018 Steelers
    Browns Tie- bad loss
    Broncos loss- bad loss
Chargers- bad loss because we were killing them until the penalties he couldn't get it back together
    Raiders- bad loss

This is just my opinion but Mike has shown to lose and play down to inferior opponents time and time again. If it just happend a once and a while ok but probably at least 1 or 2 a year its a trend.

So you're absolving the players for those bad losses, did the players also play down to the competition?

Yes, I have been rough on Tomlin for years but this may just be his best coaching display.

How much love does Coach Obvious get if the Steelers get beat in a blow out tonight? This is exactly the kind of game a Mike Tomlin comes out and lays an egg in.
