This babying/game managing approach isn't working. Look, I get it we have an elite defense. But the offense gave them 9 of their 12 points yesterday. Offense gave the Ravens 7 and cost them the game because they trusted Samuels to throw over Rudolph.

I'd much rather be aggressive with the offense and try to put up points. Maybe a pick 6 happens, I can live with that. But a high snap and giving them 7 or Samuels throwing an int inside our 10 is just stupid.

They need to change their approach of game managing early and be aggressive and try to put up points and rely on fresh defense to get a stop if need be. Then game manage late if need be.

Wasting offensive possessions and chances at points that should have / could have cost us 2 games in a row.

And yet yesterday when they needed a great punt to pin LA back late, they get a 28 yarder, but fortunately the D stepped up big and bailed out Berry. Even playing to punt is a weak strategy.

MR could have thrown an int and been the same outcome. Taking no real chances and still putting our defense in tough situations. Makes no sense to me.

I don't think this offense is capable of playing to win, the running game is nonexistent, the receivers drop too many passes and fumble too much.

They look good here and there. Drive down and put up points then they turtle. They start every game scared like they are down 14 and end up giving the other team points anyways.

They coaches are managing an offense that's young at QB and WR's well. They need to limit the penalties, dropped passes, and inaccurate passes. They need to play better situational football and score when opportunities are there.

Sometimes not trying to do to much is playing to win.

Yet, the offense is the reason for 9 of their 12 points while babying MR. Might as well let him throw. Maybe they actually score. What's the worst that can happen? Offense is the reason for a touchdown and a field goal. That's 10 points. They found a way to give them 9 while doing nothing.

They’ve won 4 in row. Play good defense and win the field position and turnover battle is the old school recipe for Steeler football.

Just be happy that the team is finding ways to win games with their approach with a young QB and WRs.

That's all fine and dandy for most of the regular season, but when it comes to playoff ball, it takes more than that to win. The turnovers aren't there anymore. The bad teams are long gone. It takes a good game on both sides of the ball to win playoff football. We can't baby MR all season long and then expect to cut him loose come playoffs. This isn't the 90's anymore, you need to score to win it all.

Tomlin said we need to throw short and run long. I couldn't disagree more. Let MR play. Take the handcuffs off and see what he can do. Let him grow. Don't handcuff him or they'll end up hurting his development, which will hurt our chances at winning when it counts.

3 times a week... I need to be able to defend myself if I ever run into JH

It should be 5 in a row. Almost wasn't 4 if HoF kicker doesn't miss an easy one. We also got some favorable calls Sunday or the refs could have screwed us on Edmunds play. Then we'd all be complaining about the offense this week. Why can't anybody think ahead around here.

When ben took over the O they simplified the O, and as I recall broke the field up into 3 segments, side of each hash and the middle. Which worked really well in the regular season. That said he had the Bus, Duce, and Haynes to run the ball, Krieder as a FB, and Ward, ARE, and Plax as receivers. I know the frustration mounts at times, but with all the injures, the inconsistency (and non-existent) running game, inexplicable lack of TE usage, and inexperience at WR and QB they are doing what they need to do. Do we need more as the season progresses..certainly. Will it happen? Who know's.

Oh, I'm still going to complain about the O. They're bad, but I don't think it's because of play calling, I think it's because we have a lot of mediocre players on that side of the ball. If "playing to win" means running more high risk plays with this QB I say no thanks. I'll take my chances with play to possess the ball a while and punt.

There was a sitcom called Coach. All of a sudden a lousy team started winning through freak circumstances and going up in the polls. Coach kept saying, "but we are not that good", and he was told, "just enjoy the ride". When Ben went and we were at 1-4, what were the expectations? Nothing. I am not getting excited about a potential playoff run simply because to me it really does not matter. I am just enjoying the ride. I have not seen this team play with this much heart, grit, and determination in years. If they get there, great..but finally seeing a D come to life is pretty awesome. The O, well what can we really expect. They are on 5 and 6th depth RB's, no FB..and got 42 yards rushing. It is amazing we even won. Enjoy the ride, it may continue..or go south real fast.

Thing is offense has shown flashes. We finally have a defense. You want a playoff run? We need to let the offense try to score.

Now this is what I want to hear CK 13.

I am waiting as well. Mason can make the throws folks. Look at his collegiate film. I do not really want to hear about the system that he was in either. Although, express your opinions to those that feel they must.

It is up to the coaches to put him in "good" situations. However, this is a two-way street as the recipients of those passes (WR, RB, TE) have got to come through and shake the "drops" already. The more that they come through, the more confidence Mason builds and so the process continues to evolve. STEELWINDS
