    Hi everyone!

So with the Steelers 4-4, do you guys think they will make the playoffs? Baltimore has a pretty easy schedule remaining, and they already have a good record, so they will probably win the division. Do you guys think the Steelers can play hard enough and earn a wild card spot?

If they play like they did weeks 1-3, then no.

I think they will as a wildcard. They can maybe upset like houston/indy but lose to any of the rest

If they do make the playoffs, it will be either one and done or two and done depending on who they face in the Wildcard round. No way in hell Steelers can beat Chiefs (with Mahomes) or Patriots in their current state.... just simply not a good matchup with either team. All other teams, Ravens included, are beatable, IMO. Texans, Colts, Bills, etc... Steelers can beat those teams if they play with discipline.

If the offense stays the same I say no. Defense is ready to go.

I dont think the Steelers can get a wild card. I see them as a 9-7 team. May be enough to win the division if they beat Baltimore, but doubt it will be enough to earn a wildcard.

Ravens are on course to win 11 games... at least. Maybe 12, so it's gonna have to be wildcard berth for the Steelers.

Probably not but an 8-8 type season sans Ben is respectable.

Right now, the Ravens look legit. Unless they implode or Jackson gets hurt, I don't know that anyone can beat them. And I don't think we will get in as a wild card, even if we win out (which we won't).

    We've got 8 games remaining:

8-0 or 7-1 we should win the division -if our loss isn't against Bal (hard to think Ravens will go on an undefeated run).
6-2 and we will make it as WC.
5-3, probable, but depends on so many factors
    4-4, no way.

So what if they are one and done, this offense doesn't scare anybody, it would be a achievement to come back from 1-4 playing most of the season without Ben and Tuitt..

They need to go 6-2 IMO, beat Buffalo and Baltimore especially.

Making the playoffs under the circumstances would be a good accomplishment, IMO. So for once... I agree with you.

I see them winning 7 or 8 games. That won't be enough. Even if they win 9 games it might not be enough.

The offense is terrible. The defense isn't going to score and get 3 takeaways every week. Without that we're doomed.

    In that order of ideas:

We must win all 3: Cincy, Arizona, Jets
Win at least one of these: Rams, Buffalo, Ravens

and the key will be to sweep Cleveland (home & away).

Winning divisional and AFC games are key to playoff seeding. If they are gonna lose, play like crap and lay an egg... might as well lose to the Rams and Cardinals.

You don't think that 'even if we win out' we will make a wildcard? When was the last time, if ever, that 12-4 didn't get wildcard berth at least??

Tomlin gets to at least 8-8.

If the league starts to figure out Jackson, we can win the division; I don't think there will be a wildcard from this division.

If we are fortunate enough to make the playoffs, there is a bout a 25% chance of a playoff win since Tomlins overall playoff win percentage is 53% and that includes some incredibly talented teams. If you take away what he did with Cowher's team, he has a 37% playoff win percentage.

Finishing 9-7 I think will be enough to get them in as a wildcard. The path to 9-7 consists of this.

Beat the teams you should: Bengals Jets and at least split with the Browns

Win at least 2 of these 4 games Rams Arizona Bills and Ravens.

They would have either a 8-4 or 7-5 AFC Conference record with head to head wins and tiebreakers over wildcard contenders such as the Colts,Chargers, and possibly the Bills. I think beating the Rams this week and getting to 5-4 really sets them up well to go at least 4-3 in their last 7 games and get to that 9 win total which I think gets them a wildcard and even keeps them in the division race as I still think the Ravens are gonna drop some games along the way.

I think if they go 6-2 or better over the final 8 they will make it.
But, would have to have wins over the Bills and Ravens. They can compete with any team remaining on the schedule.
Defense will have to play at it's current level and offense needs to improve.

If that happens you can mark that up as Tomlin's best coaching accomplishment. Start 1-4 and getting to the playoffs with this talent level squad (plus all the injuries) would be pretty amazing.

I think the other three AFC divisions have a much stronger chance of producing a wild card team. The Pats will win that division and that leaves the Bills, us or the Ravens, three of the four AFC South teams, and two of the three AFC West teams to fight for two wild card spots.
