I felt the first one was a good challenge on the defensive PI. That ball wasn't catch able.
The second one on the OPI was probably not worth throwing a challenge flag, but the risk vs. reward must have seemed worth it to Tomlin?

He said the risk was worth the reward in his post-game.

The 2nd one he should have challenged that he got 2 feet down not PI.

The underlying issue is the terrible officiating in the league. Teams seem to be losing games more consistently because of non call refs fail to make or calls refs make. They can't even get the calls right on review. I think the league has a serious problem that's going to push a lot of fans away from the game.

When you got red paint. Waste some challenges.

Funny thing is Tomlin didn't start losing this many challenges until Ron Riveron took over as replay official in 2017.
    Something stinks here.

I his defense on the second one. Johnson got OPI last week just for grabbing the guys arm that was trying to force him out with.

The NFL is not far from pro wrestling, where the outcomes are scripted.

Did anyone here really think for a second that the 2nd challenge was a good idea as it happened other than Tomlin? We all had TVs, did a single person here say "that was Offensive PI!" Come forward if so.

I bet a lot of people first questioned 2 feet down, but it only took 1 replay on CBS to see he had both down.

Guess what, the steelers also have access to CBS, so just another wtf moment wasting a timeout.

I thought it was technically OPI, but didn't think it would get called from the challenge.

What I'm saying is you only considered that AFTER the flag was thrown and we were trying to make sense of it all.

Before the flag was thrown, did you have confidence to say "throw the flag!" Of course not. Esp in today's NFL, if you aren't screaming for a flag then the refs wont be overturning it.

The fact the first challenged failed is pathetic as well. But we don't pay the refs salary. (Only NE does that ;))

Yeah, he's got to sell that OPI by flailing and then getting up and screaming bloody murder about it!

See the Roughing the passer call on Cleveland at the end of that game. That flag came out so damn late.

I didn't mean the player needs to scream for the flag.
I said that you, the fan watching on your TV, should be screaming for a flag. It's a simple eye test and we normally get a CBS replay before the next play. If YOU aren't screaming for them to throw the flag then it's probably a really bad time to thrown one and will fail.

No fan was screaming "OPI" when the catch was made. It was just another baffling desperate move by Tomlin.

But yeah, sadly crying to the refs seems to help with the calls.

I don't know why Tomlin didn't challenge Samuels TD dive earlier in the game. The referee who was back in New York said that it was a TD.

I don't think so because he only got one foot down.

    Boycott worthy?

This new rule sucks, even after review they rarely change a wrong pass interference call. FWIW Charlie Batch on the postgame show said he liked both of Tomlin's challenges.

Didn't think the 2nd one wasn't going to get overturned, but I don't have a problem with the fact that Tomlin challenged it based on what would have happened if it did get overturned. And as inconsistent as PI calls have been, Tomlin probably thought there was a chance, but then again, with the new rule, it seems it rarely actually gets turned over when challenged, even when it seems obvious it should.

2 feet down and that part wasn't even debatable.
