Follow the rules below and make your prediction. I'll publish the results after the game in a post on this thread. There will be 2 ways to win (a weekly winner and a yearly winner).
This weeks Game is:
Pittsburgh vs NY Jets

The rules are simple. Whoever predicts the correct winner with the score closest to the actual score wins. For example if the score is Pittsburgh 28 Cincinnati 21 The method of determining your score is to take the value of the difference of your guess of the Pittsburgh score and the value of the difference of your guess of the opponent score. You also must pick the correct winner to make your pick valid. In case of a tie, the tiebreaker is used.
For example if TTFs prediction is 35-21 Steelers he would be 7 points from the actual score…..35-28=7 21-21=0 7+0=7.
If Ray Ds prediction is 30-18 Steelers he would be 5 points from the score and he would beat TTF………30-28=2 21-18=3 2+3=5. If either had picked the Bengals they would have automatically lost due to the fact that they did not pick the correct winner.


I will be awarding points for the first 10 places 10 points for 1st place 9 points for second place and so on.....and including a bonus of 3 additional points for making a perfect prediction. I will track cumulative point totals and the number of times you make the top 10. This contest will end at the end of the Steelers season.

The deadline to make your picks is 1 minute before the scheduled start time.


This week's tiebreaker is NY JETS Passing Yards.

Gonna stick with it, even though I thought of changing.
Jets total passing yards? 290, since I was thinking about 300, and that splits the difference with your pick.
Total guesses. Kinda sucks, that you see other people`s picks, before you make yours.
Towel, any way to make this a blind guess, like with the polls, where you have to submit an answer, before you see the replies?
Other than that, I LOVE this thread.. GREAT JOB, FAN INKY!!!
Just have a feeling it could turn into a "Price is right", kinda deal, where 1st posters put up their guesses, then later posters, try to get JUST a point or so, above or below what they were thinking, when they see what`s been guessed.
I don`t know if anyone takes this too seriously, but I could see ways to take advantage of waiting to post, late in the thread.
I almost changed my pick, after seeing Ray`s similar pick, but felt "unethical" about it... If people wanted to screw up the process, they could just try to produce a ton of ties, with the later picks.
I would like to think, that my fellow STEELER fans, would be above that, but this IS the internet, after all...
Probably gonna have to go with the "honors system", I would guess...

yeah I definitely looked at everyone elses scores before I did mine. And a few others already had the scores that I wanted and I didn't want to step on anyones toes, so I adjusted accordingly. I guess maybe we should come to an agreement on picking the same scores. Personally, Im okay with someone after me taking the same score...thats what the tie breaker is for. So if anyone else wants 27-10, pick away.

I'm gonna watch the Jets-Bills game before picking, but I gotta say I'm surprised at some of the passing numbers I saw here. 10 out of 18 (so far) think that Sanchez and company will throw for more yards than Peyton Manning did. And I thought Peyton looked pretty sharp. Plus the Jets' receivers don't scare me as much as Denver's. Plus we'll have Ryan Clark. Anything's possible, and the way the game takes shape will make the biggest difference (if we take a big lead, for example, they could rack up some big passing numbers), but I won't be surprised if we hold them under 200.
