Under. No way are they going to have more then last year. Up until that last series they kept them off him all game. He was getting rid of the ball quick and even threw a ball away and I'm sure that will continue.

Well, with 5 in the bag now they need to give up 41 in the next 15 games to get to 46.
Giving up 41 in 15 games averages to 2.73 sacks/game the rest of the way.

Last year the average team gave up 37.1 sacks in 16 games (2.32 sacks/game)

I gotta believe the Steeler OL will give up more sacks that an average OL, if they give up .5 sack more per game, they'll hit the over (47.2).

    So I'll go over.

But I'll definety say this say this: I don't what what "way under" means but if it means less than 40, I'll bet anything that don't happen.

Bens sacks through the last 4 seasons.

    2011: 40
    2010: 32
    2009: 50
    2008: 46

He's only been sacked more then 46 times once in the last 4 years and with a view into last nights game with the quick passing and deterrmination to run, you think he will be sacked more then that? Throw out the garbage sacks at the end of yesterdays game, that's not happening every week. His sack total will be under 46.

Depends if he plays like the first half of the Denver game with quick decisions and dump offs or like the second half with the extend the play mentality. I hope Haley gets him to play a more disciplined game and the sacks are reduced.

I hate to say it, but it will be close to over, like 45. If that is the case, Ben is in trouble and the team will be in troble.

what would really be interesting would be to see how many hits he takes compared to the rest of the league. we know he takes more sacks then anyone ever.

One sack was on a cheese botched play and other was a Ben circa 2010 holding the ball way too long. Can't remember the other

I would say at least 46. If Ben weren't a freak of nature he would've been on his back a LOT yesterday. It's phenomenal and almost miraculous that he manages to stay on his feet. He threw that td pass to Wallace with a defender basically hanging off of him. Has there ever been a qb in the league as freakishly strong as him? Was even Steve McNair that strong? Could Elway stand up with that kinda pressure?

Since I've been watching, dating back to the 70's, I can't recall anyone like Ben or as strong. I don't think McNair was either and he is one of my favorite QB's. Ben is unique, he can do stuff no one else can, which is why I hate when I see complaints about holding it too long. Ok, yeah, sometimes he goes too far with it but most of the time he makes a play out of nothing. Let Brady an Brees and the others be wussies and throw it away at the first hint of trouble, I want Ben to do his thing.

That's why I can't stand Peyton because he just lays down as soon as he sees someone coming. But with Ben it's almost like he's thinking "YES! If there's a guy in my face there MUST be a guy open!" BTW McNair is a legend as far as I'm concerned. He was definitely a forerunner to the style that Ben plays. Also so is Elway. Actually Ben wears his number in honor of Elway. I love Elway and that play where he went HELICOPTER style for the first down in the Super Bowl is one of the greatest ever. I always tell people when they tell me I'm stupid for not liking Peyton I'm just like "I like the tough guys and when is the last time you saw Peyton diving head first like that?"

Well if we keep counting sacks from past games I may have to change my prediction to over :lolol: Right now we are definitely looking under though.

Just going to have employ more of the quick passing game then, helps neutralize a good pass rush. Ironically enough, the team I fear the most out of your 3 is the Giants and they only have 6 sacks so far. Ravens have 8 and Bengals 11. Don't see any of them for another 4 weeks though so hopefully we'll have seen some improvement by then.
