I think the team will be ready. They just need to play well enough to win.

We are the animals backed up into the corner because we still have hope. Miami has no hope. They should be fearing us. Unfortunately, that may not be the case.

Half the team wasn't born the last time the Steelers lost a game at home on Monday night. It won't be happening this time either. Doesn't matter if the Dolphins are a cornered animal, desperate men, world champs or supermen. The Steelers don't lose on Monday nights. 27 years people, 27 years!

So are you saying the NFL refuses to schedule the Patriots on a Monday night in Pittsburgh because the Patriots will lose? That sneaky Roger Goodell.

How bad are we that fans are worried about a Monday night game against a winless team with us coming off a bye?

This is the NFL. On any given Sunday...or Monday in this case.

The Dolphins are going to control the first round regardless of the result of this game. They've got 3 first round picks and 2 second round picks for next year. They've got a lot of flexibility. Even if they have the second or third pick they can easily move up if they so desire.

My own guess though is that they'll actually move down and collect even more draft picks either in the 2020 or 2021 drafts. That's predicated on them thinking that neither Tua, Herbert, or Fromm are actually are unique enough to make spending the first pick in the draft on any of them. Why get Tua with the first when you can trade down to five or six and get Herbert and another pick if you think they're about the same?

I hope so @BURGH43STEL@BURGH43STEL I really hope so. Apparently we are among mindless zombies who have been lulled to sleep by Tomlin cliches. They think this game is already in the bag and Dolphins have no incentive to win. They are all in for a rude awakening if they think this game is going to be a breeze. Then they will be the first ones starting the hundreds of Tomlin bash threads and bringing up his record against inferior opponents. I'm telling you, Dolphins are coming to win this game and the Steelers need to be preparing for such. They are better then their winless record.

They are a very poor team. Making a mountain from a mole hill.

I would argue that if Miami wins it would be the biggest upset for the NFL season. Considering Steelers dominate MNF history, home, color-rush uni's (undefeated I believe), almost everyone available (except Barren?), Fitz 0 - 6 against. It would fall just short of the fins beating an undefeated team...not named.

I'm guessing all sharp utensils in your home are hidden when the Steelers play anyone with more than one win.

If it was snowing on a sunday afternoon in December the Dolphins might have a chance but on Monday night it will be Monday night Lights and the show is all Pittsburgh

I think it may take the Steelers a quarter to shake the rust off.
After that we should be OK.

I wouldn't be that shocked if the Steelers lost because Tomlin teams can lose to anybody and this is arguably the weakest team he has had with the Steelers, but the idea that Pittsburgh is going to see some special effort from Miami and that will make all the difference is kind of silly.

    So since the Dolphins/Ben

So here is another way to look at this game........from the eyes of Minkah Fitzpatrick!!!!!!! I am thinking he wants to play lights out vs his old team right? He is in position to really make a difference, let's face it on the other side of the ball is the other Fitzpatrick and his 153 career INT's 8 this year in 135 attempts.

I will think that Minkah's desire to get his old team back will over power the thoughts of the Dolphins wanting to win this game to get a better draft pick from us. I will even go out on a limb and predict 2 INT's from Minkah is a rare easy win for the Steelers vs a below average team! :herewego!:

Its hard to imagine a trap game when they are 2-4. But, this has happened multiple times under Tomlin.

Miami is arguably the worst team in the NFL. So I feel this should be a blowout. Another must win.

After this Indy and LA. At least both are in Heinz.

    Agreed.

This is the only time they'll be on national TV this year. As professional athletes they're highly competitive and no one that competitive wants to look bad or be known as quitters. This is their chance to show a wide audience that while they're bad as a team that they compete and play hard.

Don't we have to be good to have a trap game? I agree with what you are saying but in the past with these kind of games we were a good team, I am not sure what we are right now......Monday night will tell me a lot.

I’m sticking with my prediction of a ~10 point margin of victory, but I had a vivid dream last night of our defense scoring 3 TDs and us leading by 40+ in the second half.

of course as often happens with dreams, a number of details are a bit off... in this case one of the TDs was scored by James Harrison, and as he ran down the sideline toward the goal line he was flipping SDOT the bird.

Minkah should line up at every single defensive position at least once during the game, just to rub it in to the Dolphins.
