They chose Elliott. They’re not gonna carry 5 OLBs on the 53.

Put Skipper on the practice squad, cut Lynch.

It could be a option but I’m betting they might want to see how Rudolph comes out of this game first before they go down to 2 QBs again.

Ola has been practicing with the first team, Watt may not play, they should be able to beat Miami without him.

Not sure Elliot brings much more (or less) to the table at this point (except experience). Probably a player or two on the PS they could cut and not miss. Guess we will see how much they want him.

'Should be able to beat' has often been translated, "they should have beaten" in Tomlin's era. At 2-4 I am not sure this is a 'play down' game, but you are right on paper they should win this.

Idk...No Tuitt, No Watt maybe, No Chickillo lol...Miami has played alot better the last 2 games...It isn't like we're some powerhouse, And Tomlin coached teams have a tendency to........................

MY guess is they saw the in game tape of Skipper and most recently had Elliot in the clubhouse with them and the current group of defensive guys. Probably more comfortable if they had to use him in game this week.

Would they have had to place him their 53 to get him to the practice squad or would that have just been a where they would have put him if they signed him?

If they play down to some teams, then I guess Cleveland and Cincinnati didn't get the memo, because the Steelers rarely lose to them.

While on the commissioner's exempt list, a player is paid as if he were on the active roster, yet he does not count against his team's 53-man active roster limit. A player on the exempt list is not allowed to practice or attend games, but he is allowed to be present at the facility for meetings, to work out, and to receive treatment.

From an article a couple of years back (2017), all in MT's tenure. "That's 15 losses over seven seasons to teams with a combined record of 25-89, which works out to a winning percentage of .219. The Steelers, meanwhile, were 66-46, a winning percentage of .589. The Steelers were also favored in every game..."

    That is a dismal record.

I believe Elliot was the choice mostly because of STs . Losing Chick on STs was probably their bigger concern

You are welcome I am not sure on that but I think we would owe 292k if we cut him but that is not 100% right.

Anthony Chickillo signed a two year, $8 million contract from the Steelers. The contract has a $2.195 million signing bonus. If on the roster on the third day of the 2020 league year he will earn a $500,000 roster bonus.

I got to believe he is good as gone.

it depends on his contract I would say. There has to be some type of clause about behavior detrimental to the team somewhere in there.

Spillane was a good player during the pre-season at ILB. I'm not sure he has the speed to play OLB.
