Not bragging ( Yes I am ) I told y'all before the season to don't sleep on him...Been a great addition, Secondary flying around, wreacking havoc, and have looked better than they have in years...I knew this guy since high school and has accomplished more in his 1st season than Popcorn has in his whole career

It couldn’t have anything to do with the additions of Nelson, Fitzpatrick etc

Hate to say it but they didn't look too good before Minkah got here now they look like a different team. IDK who or why if they keep playing like this (minus the 3rd and longs) I will be happier than a clam in a pail of piss at high tide..................

Minkah Fitzpatrick is making this all possible in my opinion. The likes of New England and Seattle carved our secondary without Minkah. With Minkah, this secondary has gotten LEAGUES better since.

That being said, the fact that Artie Burns, now that I have looked at the All 22 Tape, actually did play well, speaks volumes of Teryl's abilities. However, there is also one other player benefitting from it as well. Cameron Sutton has been the biggest beneficiary among the secondary.

Cameron's progress will be critical the same. Mike Hilton sadly is likely out of here. Suttons development, along with Justin Layne, will be quite telling of Austin's Teachings moving forward.

I oh most definitely will personally. Unlike Butler, Austin has had DC experience in the past. The experience is their for him; talent better. Give him someone to replace the likes of Javon Hargrave and this defense will be fine in my opinion.

Butler has not shown he is able to place his players in winnable situations. The whole point of personnel matchups is to consistently place your players into situations that match their strengths. Any weaknsess that they have has to be compensated in other areas of the defense or scheme around that by maximizing that players abilities.

Keith has simply been unable to do that. He has had his chances. Teryl Austin for me deserves another shot as the talent here far exceeds anything he has had in either Cincy or Detriot.

If Austin is so great, then why did the Bengals fire him in midseason in 2018?

Did he get fired in the midseason because his defense was so bad, like Austin did? I don't think so.

Could there be other reasons beyond his defense being bad. Do you know if he had a falling out or a philosophical difference? No you don’t....

I wouldn't use the Bengals as a barometer for much. Imploding maybe.

No idea... Didn't realize you're so in love with Butler...Said Austin's doing a great job, and he is...Sutton looks like a Pro Bowler... Maybe even good enough as to why there hasn't been a Haden extension?

Simple answer really. Team quit on the season overall. Given the fact that Cincy was already heading for NFL Purgatory after the loss to Pittsburgh, players simply gave up.

That aspect has nothing to do with Austin. Coaches can only do so much for the players. Players have to decide whether or not they want to solider on.

Realistically speaking, groutbook is correct. Cincy is not the best measuring stick. For that matter, they have not been in over two decades.

Heard Artie played well but we saw the bad plays. Is it true?

Yeah that is true as far as we can tell.

They gave him a game ball and he was only targeted 4 times gave up the one TD to the TE. If he covers his man and the QB goes somewhere else with the ball we never see that on TV.

I don't really care, I was just messing with you :hehehe:. We really don't have a idea what his overall role is in the defense, the talent has been upgraded also.

No way that can't be true, according to the expert's on this board when the Steelers lose it's always Tomlin's and Butler's fault, it's never the players fault.(green font)
