Redman underpaid

6 out of the 10 Top performers from 2011 are the bigger slower North and South runners 1 cut unners.....Turner,Gore,Mcgahee,Jackson,Matthews and lets not forget Foster...A guy with a 4.68 Forty time....Also the 2 guys with the highest YPC with RB'S over 100 carries are Ben Tate and Fred Jackson....Both of which are 4.5 guys not scat RB'S....

So this info alone shows that the bigger RB'S are every bit as valuable to the run game as a scat RB...As I stated they are more valuable overall because they change the scheme of the other Team and they wear down coverage guys....I played CB in College no problem chasing down fast guys,just get the right angles and make the play .....Of course they will get gone from time to time ,but in the 4th. Quarter they have no more value than they did in the 1st....They have not wore down the DB'S and LB'S as they have plenty of wind....

However if you take on a Bruiser the entire game in the 4th. Quarter he has more value than he did in the 1st. and DB'S and LB'S will start to look a step slower in coverage as well.....Again why would we not want to impose our will on Teams with the D we have and with the area in which we play Football.....
Simple stuff run the ball ,use PA ,and play great D ....If we do that we wont get bounced by the Broncos.....

Only 17 runs in that game and the runner was over 7.0 yards a carry....4 or 5 times we passed on 3rd. and less than 3 in that game....We also only attempted 4 PA passes while we had a RB at 7.0 YPC .....BA should not only have been fired he should have been locked up....His approach was criminal as usual.....

Redman had the game opened up and BA had no clue how to exploit it......Haley knows what to do........

Redman didn't have any fumbles. Ben through an int or two and Legs fumbled a snap(?).

nothing against redman, i like him alot and that phase of runner is needed. he will have to show other aspects of his game this year though. receiving and getting to the edge. this will tell if he's a complete back.

 

So after week one......Ben throws 40 times....Steelers run 26....Redman 11 times for 1.8 a carry

Hack understand. PWP is not going to agree with anything bad about Redman. I am a big Redman fan too, but the fact is, this pre-season, Dwyer has proven himself time and time again, Redman has not. My position is, show me by example, Dwyer has show what he can do when he got his chance. He put in work. I can only go by what I see. IMHO, Dwyer should be #1 and Redman should be #2. At this point, I think Redman will do better when he comes in as #2 and on 3rd downs.

 

I like Redman quite a bit...but I think its always been more about realistic expectations. I can only assume Redman is not 100% because his game is off.

Perhaps that might be what is going on with him. I know that he has not gotten anybodys attention yet, however Dwyer has gotten everyoones attention.

Can't wait to see what PWP has to say about this and the game. It will be good reading material.

 

I agree. Redman is a north south runner. We need Mendenhall speed to get to the edge.
