Bush's fumble recovery TD

Did anyone else notice how there were 3 other Steelers who stood around staring at the ball before Bush smartly picked it up and ran in for the score? It was bizarre how these other players stood there slack jawed as if they were downing a punt. Shouldn't the players be coached to always pick up a ball and run into the end zone if they don't hear a whistle?

Thank god Bush has a high football IQ or the Chargers might have recovered that backwards pass.

 

I said in another post that Vince Williams ran away from it like it was a live grenade. Even Melvin Gordon who had it bounce off his hands walked away like it was an incomplete pass. Of all people he should have known it was a lateral.

 

Hopefully they learn from that but I'm not certain that they will.

It's a good thing Bush recovered. I don't think any of the other players that were around the ball would had scored if they recovered the ball.

I just do not get it... another thing I do not get when a player is on ground but has never been touched and gets up with 5 players standing in arms length from them and goes on to run for 30 more yds...... These dudes have been playing football since they ere 5 years old and it is like they never played before........

The Players have to know that the Refs are now letting play "play out" to error on the side of caution.

 

Coaching issue. Fundemental breakdown at that.

I do agree with you on that point. But man, that is a lot of coaching failure going back to pop Warner, high school, college. Fundamentals just seem to be out the window.

 

With changing priorities these days, they probably spend more time teaching them about who can use what bathrooms than football basics.
