I'm not sure if Tomlin wants a situation where he has more control. But if he does, Washington is not the place to go. Snyder will make decisions to trade players, to sign over the hill FAs, to draft some guy he saw once in a college game. And Tomlin won't be able to do much about it.

You said it not me... But no, the video didn't come out until this morning. That's why I thought this was all new information and made a thread.

It won't happen ever but if it did happen now who would you make the interim coach? Butler? Finchtner? Yuck!

Tomlin could ride off a hero without winning another SB, just bring Washington back to the playoffs. Is he that vain could be a possibility.

I think Tomlin is a damn good coach, but I also think it's time for him to go after this season.

Everyone has a sell by date and I think his has been reached here.

The thing I worry about however is that five years after he's gone we'll all be pining for the good ol' days under Tomlin. The next HC hiring decision will be the first one almost entirely on Art. We might want to be careful what we wish for.

I just heard an interview on 93.7 the fan with the Redskins beat writer. He said that Snyder's top 3 on his list are Tomlin, Debo Swinney and Nick Saban. Interest in football in the DC area has greatly waned and Snyder wants to make his next hire a huge splash and he is willing to open his checkbook.
The bad news is that he said Snyder and Bruce Allen are looked on as pariahs around the NFL and no one wants to work for them.

    :lolol: at Dabo or Saban.

Saban tried it already, had total control, and sucked. He ain't stupid enough to leave Bama. He'll retire from there and once he does Dabo will go to Alabama.

If Snyder really wanted to go the college route, Lincoln Riley would be the guy. Someone who seems to have a magic touch with QBs.

So I guess it's none of those 3 then.

That's what the Skins beat writer was indicating. He said Snyder was unlikely to get anyone on his wish list. He said if Snyder can't get them he will have to go get someone like Mike McCarthy or as KMM has mentioned Lincoln Riley but they might not be interested either.

Well Coach Obvious hasn’t come out and flatly said no to the idea. I would assume he’s considering it at least a little in the back of his mind. If he’s got one.

I think the one thing that can make it happen is the fact that billionaires like Snyder aren't used to not getting what they want. If he offers Tomlin money that would keep the next few generations of Tomlin's financialy secure it would be hard to turn down.

I think the first step should be our compensation if they agree on a deal. Unless Tomlin is out regardless at the end of the year.

I’ve been saying once Ben is gone either via retirement or injury the fraud that is TOMLIN will be exposed. Well we are 1-4 folks and that non losing record BS will be over very soon.

Snyder should remember the last college coach he hired that didnt work out, Steve Spurrier who had a 12-20 record in two years and resigned as their head coach and it became known as, clearly the worst hire the Redskins ever made in the Snyder era.

I’m not so sure about NCAA. Cowher nor Tomlin came right out of the NCAA.

They're talking about Frank Reich on TV. How he prepares, gameplans, calls plays. What's it like to have a HC that does that?

Redskins can have Tomlin as far as I'm concerned. As long as we get Redskins 1st round draft pick in '20.
