You gotta love a huge man named Booger but his incessant praise of Tomlin as one of the best coaches in the league was tough to listen to!

But then he also praised the offensive direction that Zac Taylor is taking the Bengals, while the Bengals amassed 3 points and looked like they couldn't block anyone!

I don’t watch much MNF if the Steelers aren’t playing but those two were awful. And Booger is the better of the two.

I usually just tune him out. He's always sounded to me like he's trying too hard to sound impressive.

Would you expect announcers to say, this horrible you guys actually tuned in to watch this?
Why don't you switch it over to Golden Girls re-runs.

I have started watching football with the sound down. Over the years I've noticed it's the same things said over and over just different names.

All you need to know about ESPN is that their morning show "QB expert" is the idiot QB that the Lions had that ran out of the back of the endzone for a safety.

Yep, especially on Monday night. Every team and every player is the best in the league.

There have been times over the first 3 weeks of the season that Golden Girls reruns seemed like a alternative.

Sadly I don't watch any NFL games but the Steelers with the exception of Thanksgiving and that's just because it's on in the house while celebrating the holiday. Officiating and rule changes has depleted my interest greatly.

Of course not, but just because they don't say that, it doesn't mean they're a great announcer. There are plenty that I like, but Booger is just not one of them.

I think Tomlin started his coaching career in Tampa, he might have been on staff when Booger was playing there.

I actually didn't think the announcing was that bad....of course, I was really happy with the game so maybe it just didn't bother me. After listening to Simms for years, I think I am pretty easy to please.

Maybe it was because the game was so enjoyable but I actually thought those two were the least annoying NFL announcing crew I've heard in years. They mostly commented on the plays and didn't get too ridiculous.

That’s true about Simms. White noise would be preferable to his “insight”.

Booger had some decent analysis but he had a habit of repeating himself which was annoying. Like he kept calling Dalton the Red Rifle over and over. Red Rifle is not a good descriptor when the guy is picking himself up from the floor for the 8th time....

At least Witten is out of the booth this year and back on the field where he belongs. Booger alone is hard to take; Booger and Witten together were like two Ritalin deprived pre-schoolers constantly fighting for the admiration and attention of the teacher. And the repetitious cliche's: "Make no mistake"; "At the end of the day"; "While I understand what he's trying to do...." etc etc - even turning on the subtitles doesn't help.

Yea, his comments about Tomlin being one of the top best coaches was a little hard to take when watching him year after year.

Here is the analogy I use for Tomlin:

If someone gave you $1M today and a year from today all you have to show for it is a $250,000 house paid in full and a $40,000 car paid in full; people who didn't know you were given $1M would think you are doing pretty well for yourself. But you are really a failure!

Tomlin was given a Super Bowl caliber team and has been given some of the best talent the NFL has ever seen and his accomplishments are that he won a Super Bowl and has never had a losing season. He is a failure!

He's not for prime time. He's a one o'clock Sunday, week eleven match up between a 2-9 and 4-7 team color commentator.
