I was surprised that the talking heads on ESPN caught on to the fact that for a change Tomlin's staff didn't do what they do. They changed the formula and made a plan for MR and had success with it.

Also interesting to hear Clark say Munch was in charge of the running game and with him gone that is why it's struggling. I know he was the man for blocking but didn't know he was in charge of the rushing attack.

I really do not care if it was the Bengals or not. As I said in the GDT, confidence is key going forward. Mason got that and more from tonight. He should be able to build from it the same. Devin Bush as well. Becoming every bit of DROY potential as I thought he would be.

My issue moving forward is not either though. My concern is still both Coordinators. For Randy, he needs to expand the playbook more for Mason. Now that Mason has some confidence, give him something to work with. Not every pass has to be deep but some seam busting routes by the Tight Ends or even some slants and posts would help every now and then.

Mason will have to take some shots deep as Baltimore boasts one of the NFL's best Safety tandems. Earl Thomas is a lock for Canton. Tony Jefferson is a nice compliment to him. No more experimentation. Give Mason some shots.

For Keith Butler, oh please in the name of JESUS.... continue to place players in winnable situations. Tonight was a great example of how to defend Tight Ends like Tyler Eifert; two is better than one. Granted, next week will not be as fortunate as Hollywood Brown runs a legit 4.3 and Miles Boykin is a 4.4 skyscraping monster. That said, having Terrell Edmunds as an overhang is a great way to use him until he gets more acclimated playing man to man against Tight Ends in the slot.

Should both Randy and Keith enact on this in addition to their own improvement, Pittsburgh can get to 2-3. Should Cleveland fall to San Fran come next Monday Night, look for Pittsburgh to sit atop the North due to tiebreakers.

I was impressed with Mason. Liked what I saw from Samuels and Bush. Conner looked like **** then something clicked in the 2nd half and he looked like the Conner I was expecting the last 3 weeks. Was refreshing to not see our safeties diving at ball carriers and missing them by 5 feet .

Otherwise yea I agree. We still were getting easily beat in the middle. I don't understand the issue , why can't we cover slot WR's? It has to be schematic. That outcome was due to the pass rush....or should I say the worst O-line I think I've ever seen. Watching those dudes waive their arms at our pass rush and just whiffing while we killed Dalton actually made me feel bad for Dalton for just a second. I got over it .

Against a team with a good O-line I'm not sure we win that game. The Bengals were in it for much of the game - we ran around but couldn't make plays on offense for much of the 1st half. It bothered me that we took our foot off the gas pedal after taking a decent lead. We can't do that against good teams.

It's amazing how pressure on a QB can make a secondary look like world beaters. IMO we desperately need to upgrade Bud Dupree next season. (yes I saw his strip sack) Pass rush covers up so many issues. As does good safety play. Hopefully we are at least average with the addition of MF. Maybe MF will bring out the best in Edmonds.

The only chance we have against the Ravens IMO is if the leash is taken off Mason. Let him air it out and open up the running game. That's why the Browns kicked their ass - they killed them in the air. We have to do the same to win. Ingram will kill us if we don't get a lead.

I said when Ben went down that now the pressure is off and we can just enjoy the season for whatever it turns out to be.

    Tonight was a joy.

    Only the Bungles? Don't care.

    Alot of positives last night:

-Team played with energy & discipline.
-Mason 24/28, no turnovers, gets his first win, 1-0 at Heinz Field.
    -Barron & Bush (nice game)
    -Only 4 penalties
    -Offensive & Defensive game plan
    -D. Johnson (JuJu's help)
-N. Vannett (a week to get up to speed, solid)

    Need to work on:

    -3rd down conversions
    -TOP
-short yardage plays both sides of the ball
    -stopping the run
    - capitalizing on turnovers

Raisins up next coming off a beat down, a true test of our fortitude.

I don't care if it was the Bunholes or not, we played a very good game. The game plan was very good for a young QB. It kinda reminded me of Ben's first season when they really didn't let him do much and eased him into it. Bush looked good and I am not talking about him having a sack cause he was untouched he should have had the sack. I am talking about how he stepped up and filled the gap, this is something I have been very critical about him. TJ, Tuitt, Heyward and yeah even Dud are causing major problems for the oline. The last 2 games the defense has been real good, this week will be the test.

Listen The Bills were 3-0 and played Jets, NYG and Bunholes. The cowpies were 3-0 and played the Deadskins, NYG and Fish. The Rats were 2-0 beating the Fish and Cards, all that time people were talking about how good they were. Well so what that we played the Bunholes we are not the only team playing bad teams!!!!!! Also let me point out the combined record of the 3 teams that beat us............10 - 1!!!!!!!!

OMG 6am and I think the Steelers got another sack........:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Not being targeted. The dink and dunk game plan is not suiting him. JuJu is hardly involved either and he is the no 1 receiver on the depth chart.

I was blown away at the play calling. It was as if Fichtner was kidnapped.. All those newly create offensive plays.. Wildcat bhahahaha.. They ran more wildcat in one game then they did in the entire franchises history

thats usually when you see it but its good to see Mason developing slowly into a decent game manager.. Game manager sometimes can be a kiss of death for a QB but Mason is really coming along.

The play calling was perfect for this game, the better teams will shut those easy yards down though, it’s not a formula for the rest of the season. At some stage MR is going to have to try to win over the top.

Great to get a win on the board. This should lift some of the gloom around the team and give everyone a much needed shot in the arm.

they were using Washington to block a lot of you didn't notice. Even inside which freed up our rbs to catch passes against mismatches. Pretty decent game plan. He and vannett made a difference.

The wildcat won't work long term, it never does, but at least there was signs that Fichtner is breathing and trying to work with what he has.
