Ok, heavy emphasis on running the ball im hearing. My view is we have more of a power run game which we had no healthy TEs or a FB. IMO Samuels should see more carries since he has more wiggle then our other two backs. We have some more help now with another TE. Using banner could help this as well.

The o-line needs to change how they block for this qb. He can run. They are so used to Ben being a statue back there and allowing his movement skills in the pocket to be enough. They must keep blocking for this kid after initial separation because he can run. There approach must change instead of turning and watching to turning and making run lanes when it breaks down.

These things seem minor but may help a lot. We had 3 days to do this and couldnt. We have an extra day this week for prep and no travel. Too much to fit in last week. We also gain a day of practice since Ben always took wed. off. It's easy to just say fire everyone and go by one game saying we are done but there are things we can do to fight this ship and it won't take much. Tweek some things to fit your offense and it could look much different this week. Will they? Who knows but it's there to work with.

    Defense.

Do your job. DL, help stop the run. LBers, quit making them have to do so much. Swarm to the ball and get off the field. Again we had 3days to prepare. We have 4 and are at home, it better look different then last week. Rotate players in more. Give bugg s a hat. UG3 and ola need some field time to rest players.

All of that usually is placed on the players, as it should be. Performance of the players often dictates who well a team can succeed. That being said, for the first time in a long time, the players are not entirely in the wrong. They are simply not being placed in a position to succeed.

The coaching staff needs to actually give the players a chance. No time to be timid either. Should that happen tomorrow night,... well....

I really don't like the BA screen game but we probably need to use it a lot on 1st. down ... Teams are crowding the box and Jamming the WR'S so the off the line WR should have a chance to break some long ones...Mix it up run tunnel screens, float screens, middle screens , and run wheel and inside slant routes off those lead blocks ...Then start running some end arounds and WR reverses maybe even some WR passes ...Do all this with a RB on the field ,always have a option to switch to a running play force the D to respect a possible run..A empty set just lets the D off the hook and makes their job much easier..

Simple Football stretch the field vertically and horizontally and force Teams to defend the entire field on every snap ...Run multiple plays from the same sets stop being cute and just develop a game plan that one play builds into another play ...Stop that we run this inside trap from this set and that's really the only play from that set crap..

I think you could do a better job coaching than what we have.
Are you available to start immediately ?

We are no longer a power run team, ever since they switched to zone blocking.

This line just can’t dominate games like that and never really could. I’m starting to think the killer Bs made them look like better run blockers than they were.

The inability to pass the ball obviously hurts the run game . If you run plays that bring safeties up that also doesnt help. Nor does not utilizing your TE’s or RB ‘s in the passing game . If LB’s and corners can easily cover you man on man or even zones , then it puts pressure on the O-line . So its probably not fair to just dump on them... if their teammates did their job it might make them better run and pass block. Thats why they call it a team sport I suppose.

We need to see some samuels. We need to see those two back sets they have been talking about. The excuse of We haven't seen them because we haven't been able to keep drives alive is crazy. Line em up on first down and make the defense adjust to us instead of the other way around.

Yup same excuse he used as to why Samuels didn’t get any touches. Butlers current excuse is no VW on defense.

Agreed. It's been a very long time since we have had a great defense like we have now. On paper at least there is no reason RBs should be able to tear up the middle of the field.. I like the pressure the defense has been putting on QBs but dont like the fact they cannot get the job done when it counts.

Yeah screw that noise. VW has nothing to do with it and is average at best. Baron is not working out either. Further ahead to put somebody in there who can actually stop the run cause these guys are not getting it done.

Amazing how a passing game opens up the running game. Maybe we didn't run all over them but alot of those so called passes tonight were actually running plays. Some credit goes to the Bengals D-line for holding their own but we eventually won the LOS and it showed with no sacks and nice yards on the ground. . Bengals D-line is the only aspect of their team that isn't a total disaster.

I noticed runs to the left were tough going. I think AV was having a tough night creating any holes. Not sure what was happening at left guard but either way we could not run left for the most part. Thought it was odd we didn't use a FB and/or TE to those runs to the left of the OT. Asking a WR to go in motion and lead block is moronic. Hines Ward isn't playing anymore. Doing it on 3rd down was even more stupid. We sure do lay some eggs on play calls once in a while.
