Much needed signing. Mcdonald is unreliable. You
can't help the club if your in the tub.

 

I think he may be good fit here. He's a better blocker than catcher, and whilst that works well in our scheme, hopefully he can develop his getting open for reception skills here too.

 

Or at least a 70s sitcom...

 

I would at least like to see him play a game before making him a fan favorite 3 games into a season. Let's add he will be a free agent and while he is saying all the right things now money will talk later.............

 

Money always speaks loudest . I’m 50/50 on the move really. We did need a TE desperately so I can understand the move but man he better perform and re sign or we lost another chip in the draft. If we lose him after using and losing a 5th MT and KC should just stay home and FaceTime the draft picks in....

I know how much you value draft picks ,so I know you’re gonna explode if things don’t work out....

 

I as well understand the move but holy cow this should have been addressed sooner then the 4th week of the season. We are 0-3, lost our starting Qb and are looking at good draft position. The fact that we had to use a pick in a down season that could very well be for only 13 games makes me sick.

This has nothing to do with the player he may turn into a good player. However if he wanted to be a Steeler we could have signed him in fa next year. The whole thing about Gentry not being up to speed imo is bs. The staff knew where we were get this kid ready. Look around the league rookies are playing more and more. This is more on our coaching than the player imo.

 

Yeah it may very well turn into a very unfortunate move. My biggest issue is not having a better plan B in place than Grimble. McDonald is a walking DNP you have to plan for that. No viable PS TEs besides a guy playing rugby 2 years ago?

 

I agree many of us were talking about that before. Some thought Grimble could do it even though he never has shown it. Now here we are Grimble out Vance surprisingly fighting an injury and Gentry not ready leading to us using a draft pick on a plan C or D.

 

How durable has Vannett been? Need him to be available more than anything this season.

If I remember right you and I had the same conversation abut how Grimble can handle the load.........

My point is he hasn't played a game yet and is only signed through this season, he has a long way to go to become a fan favorite. jmo

 

If he’s a TE that’s not injured, he’s already a favourite in my book.

More seriously: you’re right, and here’s hoping he’s not another Nat Behre kind of signing. At the moment, I’m trusting Mac and assuming not...

 

Trust me I am rooting like heck for him and I have no problem if he scores one,two or three td's tonight. I am just saying a fan favorite is a little strong right now from all that he is saying. What do people think he is gonna say......"aw man I can't wait for fa so I can get out of here"? If he is serious about being here let's see how he reacts when we try and sign him in the off season? jmo
