In the grand scheme of things Juju is still young and still learning. To me Juju is in-between a 1 and 2. More like a 1B. I don't think he will ever be able to hold his own as a true Number 1. But he is better than a true Number 2. It also doesn't help him right now that after him in the WR corp, nobody is any kind of real threat. He is kinda left out there to be the only real threat in the passing game. Couple that with not having much of a running game and no real game plan and you really cant expect much more from him.

when you say fluke play what exactly do you mean? Are you saying juju is not capable of making such a play. Did the ball bounce of 2 defensive players into an unexpecting JuJu hands, what about that play was a fluke? To me it looked like a great throw by Rudolph a fine catch and a spectacular run after catch, thats what good players do. nothing flucky at all

Fluke in the sense that 99.9% of all NFL plays do not exceed 76 yards. And also Fluke in the sense that other than that particular play, he's done almost nothing else yet this season.

That wasn't a fluke play. It was a well-run route, a very good throw from Rudolph and Smith-Schuster took a good path to the end zone. Sure, the safety took a bad angle, but give the guy credit for making a play.

That said, you are correct that Smith-Schuster is not producing enough. He has been invisible far too much of the time this season. Steeler dane mentioned that he was on pace for 76 receptions for 1,300 yards this season. I don't know if that is correct, but it is a huge drop-off from last season. Also, the yardage numbers are artificially inflated by one play.

Never bought into the argument of taking true statistics away to give you a true result. There are fifty other guys in the NFL you take away a couple of their impact plays and they look to be under-performing.

Same tale with Mason. People trying to support their stance of horrid numbers AFTER taking away his substantial plays.

I've been a retail store manager for many years. If my company said, "Your two good sales months will not count towards your overall year sales plan." That's fair... ?

So you don't see a difference between an interception in which a QB makes a horrible decision and throws a ball directly to a defender, and one where the wr lets it go through his hands, hits him in the helmet and deflects to the defender for an interception? Yes, on the stat sheet those two are the same. Would you blame the QB for the second one or would you call it a fluke? I would. And why? Because it doesn't accurately represent the QB's current trend of throwing effective passes. With that in mind, JuJu has been a massive disappointment so far as the number 1 guy. Just look at the rest of the game in question besides the "fluke"; Two catches for 5 yards. Yeah, that's pretty impressive for a number 1 guy.

If you guys want to get hung up on semantics, and what is and isn't a fluke, go for it. But where I have the problem is when you pretend that JuJu has been everything that we'd hoped to see as the number 1 guy. At this point, ,questioning whether or not JuJu is up to the task of being the number 1 wider receiver we NEED him to be, is a completely legitimate question at this point. Especially since he's NEVER proven that he can carry the load without an All-Pro across the field from him.
