I am perplexed. What is it they are trying to accomplish? Is the division really in sight? We are 0-3 and some of that is circumstantial, but some of it is also warranted. Team has been on a decline. This is fine, I expect some down years and growth. Just not sure with the recent trades what is it they are doing? Are they trading picks to hopefully stay in the division, or do they value the trades just as good as the pick. Are we doing this as a pride thing... like "we don't tank we never back down ooo rah"? I am covered in flakes because I have been scratching my head nonstop.

Another theory is Tomlin is trying to preserve that non-losing record just to save his job, or Colbert is going for broke before he leaves.

Not sure what they are trying to accomplish but I do know one thing... NFL views the Jets, Dolphins, bengals, broncos, and redskins as the worst teams why cant we admit we belong there as well? lol.
Steelers have the 3rd worst differential in the NFL and here are the stats after week 3

28th in offense ppg, 30th ypg
    (29th raiders, 30th: broncos, 31st: Jets, 32nd: Dolphins / 31st: dolphins, 32nd: jets)

28th in defense ppg, 29th ypg
    (29th: cardinals, 30th:giants, 31st:redskins, 32nd: dolphins / 30th: cardinals 31st: giants 32nd: dolphins)

I am ok with a rebuilding\developing year or 2. Why can't this staff be ok with that too?

It's rebuild on the fly, Pittsburgh style. (I think I remember mentioning this the day they cut ties with AB, but I could be wrong. I also think I remember this idea being met with great resistance, but again, I could be wrong)

Get back to me in 3 weeks. Steelers go 2-1 or 3-0 in the next 3 games, the AFC North will eat itself and Steelers will have a good shot at post season.

I'm not sold on the Ravens hype machine. Steelers are better than they appear, Ravens are not as good as they appear.

They are trying to win. They still have a franchise qb and his heir. A team doesn't have to hit rock bottom to rebuild. We are only 3 games into the season and are two games back with our whole division yet to play. The browns have spent a lot more to have a 1 game lead on us. This season is far from lost.

Steelers first 3 teams are now 8-1, and the Pats and San Fran have the #1 and #2 NFL ranked defenses. Plus two of them were on the road.
And let's face Steelers should really be 2-1 and not 0-3. Seahawks and 49ers were winnable games that they didn't win.

But they say what your record says you are. Ravens beat two bad teams and lost to a good Chiefs team.
Browns are underachieving on the hype. Beat a bad Jets team with a 2nd a 3rd string QB in the game.

But Steelers have to win the next two to have an realistic chance of making something out of this season.

Dude it’s like it’s a whole new you lol.

I agree though that if we win the next 3 I’m gonna eat up the hype and dive fully in.

Yeah as long as every team let Lamar Jackson scorch them for 10 to 20 yards with is legs, stop Lamar and they will not be so successful!!!!

Their offense looks flashy and productive right now, but I see them being too reliant on Jackson as a runner to maintain it for the long haul. A few good hits on Jackson, and that offense becomes very different. It never works out in the long run for NFL teams that use a QB as a primary running threat.

Yes the division is in sight, have you bothered to look at the afc this year especially the north? Balt has wins against the all time bad Dolphins and almost as crappy Ariz team by 6 pts at home, the Browns look like all hype and no substance and the Bengals got blasted by 25 pts at home to the same 49er team the Steelers almost beat.

Why in the hell would the Steelers throw in the towel when the could just as easily been 2-1 with the only loss to a great Patriots team on the road? The Steelers opponents are a combined 8-1 and the Steelers were in 2 off those games to the wire despite not playing to their potential.

However the Steelers have not played well and they've lost Ben, but its waaaay to early to write off the season especially in this terrible division. Lets see how it plays out Go Steelers.

Doesn't matter how legit they are... Ravens vs. Steelers is usually a close game that goes down to the wire.

Sorry but if we don't win MNF this team is going to be 0-6 playing the 0-6 Dolphins. We are not beating the Ravens or the Chargers.

Bright side, it will be the 31st place team playing the 32nd place team in the power rankings.

Feel free to stick this in my face when we are 3-3.

Let me give the non-black and gold wearing glasses counterpoint.

The Ravens beat two teams they were supposed to beat. Something the Steelers have not exactly shown the ability to do on a consistent basis. In addition they played very competitively on the road against one of the co-favorites to win the AFC. The Steelers meanwhile got their butts handed to them on a silver platter in a similar road game. The Steelers other losses were one at home against a Seahawks team that quite frankly doesn't look that good, barely beating the Bengals at home and losing at home to a Saints team without Drew Brees, and a loss to San Francisco despite the Niners doing everything in their power to give the game away.

The argument that they should be 2-1 is not very convincing given their statistical rankings in various categories on both sides of the ball. Those rankings suggest a team that was fortunate to even be in two games not one that was unfortunate to lose those two.

    Offense:

    Yards gained/game = 30th
    Passing yds/game = 25th
    Rushing yds/game = 29th
    Pts/game = 28th
    First downs = 30th

    Defense:

    Yds/game = 29th
    Passing yds/game = 31st
    Rushing yds/game = 28th
    Pts/game = 28th
    First downs = 31st

Love your optimism. Really, I do, but I can't join in. There's not a whole lot of indicators pointing toward a turnaround.

Reporter to Rooney: "what do you make of the 0-3 start?"

Rooney to reporter: "I don't understand all this 0-3 talk, where is this coming from, who said we are 0-3?"
