You gotta win the next 2 at home against the Bengals and Ravens go to 2-0 in the division and get back to 2-3. 0-3 is gonna be a huge hole to dig out of no matter what. This game today was winnable the defense has to find ways to get stops when needed. This loss today is completely on the coaching they have to better job. Butler had Tomlin just do not fix anything. It’s the same stuff every week.

6 minutes with the lead and the ball, Connor ( who had fumbling issues last year) is asked to seal the game, and fumbles it away. Bad situational football.

The record at this point is basically of no concern. The Steelers are not making the playoffs. Full stop.

The way this season is salvageable is if MR develops into a good starting QB. If he does than it will be successful at this point. If not, then it will be a failure.

Have you all seen the Raven's play? They are legit.
Their HC is light years ahead of ours. They are and have
been well prepared since Harbaugh has coached them. They
had a team full of future HOF with big egos. He handled them.

The Ravens are a physical team. We used to be but we’re not anymore. If your not gonna out scheme ,game plan and out execute a opponent you have to be able to be physical at the point of attack. If not the end result will be what we’ve been seeing from this team for a while. Our defense plays on its heels and our O no longer has the ability to out talent most teams. That puts the onus on the coaches to figure out a way. It just so happens that our coaches are stuck in the stone ages of strategy. No team in their right mind would hire our coordinators. What does that tell you?

Best you can hope for is 1-1. Trading our 1st to Miami will come back and bite us in the ass.

    You fire the rb coach.

We lose the wr coach and hire the guy that's conveniently in camp because nobody else will hire him.

    You lose your o-line coach.

Each of these positions are having problems.

You keep the same DC that is struggling.

You keep the same ilb coach even though you brought one in last year for one game to help that position, which by the way you won that game he helped You with.

You fire one db coach, hire another, still stink, hire one to help him, still stink, hire more talented players and still stink.

You had three other former head coaches coaching at one time. As they dwindled, so did the wins.

We hire retreaded coaches that were not good to start with, interns or former players in their first coaching gigs, college assistants that were mediocre, do away with coaching positions and say the coordinator s can also just coach those position too, then expect championship play from your team in the NFL.

This is a bad football team with the worse coaching staff in football history and I live in Ny where Rich kotite coached the jets..... need to start fresh.... Start rebuilding offense line... other than castro they are starting to look old. Need to sign a legit number 2 receiver in off season... fire the whole coaching staff and bring in a real d cord... Believe it or not there are some quality players on D just need a cord.........

Meh. He's no better than Tomlin IMO. They're about the same. Second tier, way behind Belichik. He's had some damn good talent there also (Lewis, Reed, Suggs, Ngata, Webb, Steve Smith, Heap, Rice, McGahee, etc.) and has one SB for it just like you know who.

Did you see his boneheaded decision to go for two yesterday?

They scored a TD to make it 30-19, so they're down 11 with 12 minutes to play. He decides to go for two instead of kicking the PAT to make it a 10 pt game. Wut? It fails, forcing them to go for two again later which also fails. In the big scheme it might not have made a difference, but it was very odd.

I agree. Playoffs are out. If you take that attitude, these games are much easier to watch. This season is lost, but that's what happens when your starting QB goes on IR. It would be that way with any team not named New England or Philadelphia. Im looking for the small signs and victories that point to the future. If somehow they get things adjusted and make the playoffs, or a run at them, it's a bonus.

2 games back and there's 13 more games to be played. It's not over... the AFC North is currently terrible sans the Ravens. Steelers beat the Ravens in 2 weeks, then it's a whole different story.

The only way the season will be salvageable is the Steelers will be need to be 3-3 when they hit their bye week.

Seems like a long way to go, but 2 games are at home and finish on the road to the Chargers.

If you base that the Steelers 1st (3) opponents record is 8-1 ( Pats, Seahawks, 49ers) maybe they were just better teams than us.
They also lost two of the games by combined 6 points. The Pats are destroying everyone, and they will Buffalo this week too.

If they decided to start playing offense in the 1st half of football games. They be sitting at 2-1 right now, instead of 0-3.

Ive always compared Coaching staffs to business leaders. I think most of us can relate to having a good or bad boss at work. When the ceo is good all of the vp’s , directors, and managers work in sync, communicate as one to all subordinates, and the unit as a whole just kicks ass at everything.... sales and profits follow like its just expected because everyone is doing their job.

When you have a bad CEO or boss there is chaos, disorganization, change over and finger pointing. Eventually bad bosses start talking about accountability and maybe even make changes to the wrong personnel. Those changes almost always turn into more chaos and more excuses as to why the unit is failing. This team reeks of bad management and it always starts at the top.

Good leaders know how to surround themselves with good people. Good leaders get the most out of their employees. Look at any winning or losing organization and you can see the quality of the leaders by the success of the organization. When you see an organization with a product as good or better than the competitors and you still suck ... well then the answer to your problems is about as obvious as it gets. So it’s puzzling to me that the owners have been so reluctant to make a change. How do they not see that Tomlin is not the problem? Signs of incompetence at the top is on full display every Sunday. This week a victory was gift wrapped to us and we refused to open the present.

The idea that we will beat the Ravens is laughable.

A realistic expectation is 2-6 at the half . The Bengals and Dolphins are the only teams we can honestly say we should beat through the first 8 weeks. My initial prediction has been 6-10 but now Im doubting that. Mainly because history shows Mike Tomlin struggles to win games against bad QB’s . Our record against the worst of teams has been bad and I see no reason to think that issue has changed .

the owner and the GM let this go on. It's more then how or who they draft. You are right, the head needs removed. Colbert is director of football operations. There is a reason he is staying year to year. Nobody wants to put the blame above MT for MT and his hires or lack there of.

I liken the owners and GM to a board of directors . They hire and fire the CEO. (In this case Mt) This board seems to be happy with the profit margins and terrified of instability hurting that margin. So they are living with the status quo. Some people have mentioned the owners are just happy with mediocrity... there is some truth to that.

There is huge risk to making a leadership change . The owners seem to favor stability over risk. Just look at the bad organizations out there that change coaches and GM’s like they change their underwear. The time comes though were you have to take that risk. In reality the only reason we hired MT was because BC hung it up. Our owners only care about stability.

Steelers are terrible in September and have been for years. September is an extended preseason for the Steelers. I don't know why people are surprised. This year, we just happen to be worse than years prior.

i dont see any conceivable way the Steelers even give the Ratbirds a game. I feel like that will be over at halftime.
