Another bright note - hard to play down to teams considered beneath you when there are few teams considered beneath you.

Problem is I believe something like 2% of teams make the playoffs when starting 0-3.

Sure if we can go out and beat a good SF team on a west coast trip as 7 point dogs maybe it’s not season over. Drop that game and I would say see ya next year.

This team is going nowhere..... defense is garbage, again.... Bush looks like a deer and headlights and probably will till second half of season. JuJu does not appear he could carry the load of number 1 receiver. Our number 2 receiver is garbage... Throw in rookie qback and this season is over.............

As long as we don't play Bruce Gradkowski or Terelle Pryor

Roethlisberger had Burress, Ward, Tuman, Staley and Bettis in '04 with good O-line. Rudolph has JuJu, Washington, McDonald, Conner and Samuels in '19 with good O-line.

    RBs... '04 is better
    WRs... '04 is better
    TE....'19 is better

O-lines are about even. Rudolph definitely has less talent to work with than Roethlisberger had in '04.

I think the o lines are even in the run game. I think the current o line provides better pass protection.

The key difference between 04 and 19 is of course the defenses.

I would put Cowhers scheme in the equation also, he had Bettis & Kreider.

I dunno, I just watched the Jags Titans - they both looked about as bad as us.

I thought the Jags looked good. Similar QB situation, but their D is tight.

The 1989 Steelers started out losing their first two games 51-0 and 41-10 and still somehow managed to make the playoffs with Bubby Brister playing QB. Perhaps Moncrief is this season's Tim Worley and we can achieve the same. It's possible.

I also think that one of the problems with the game was the refs over-emphasising holding this year, so the game lost its rhythm.

True. However an emphasis on holding calls should favor us overall given the that the strengths of our team are the lines.

Hopefully. When you see Brady complaining about it, you know it’s could be useful...

We don't have to worry about Tomlin's teams playing like crap when facing weaker teams well maybe Miami but right now we are down there ( 0 -2 ) so we are the underdogs and we have played well in that roll. No where to go but up.
