This is a great move but I'd be a lot more excited if we had Big Ben still.

Pittsburgh probably should have won against Seattle. 0-2 looks bad, but the defense is about to be really damn good. Do you think the public perception is different if we're 1-1? Probably.

It's a good win-now move and a great win-later move, especially if Rudolph is any good.

This tells me that the Steelers are content with turning the ball over to Rudolph moving forward. Surely they aren’t gonna allow Washed up Ben another season. His yards last year meant nothing. He can’t throw the ball downfield, he can’t read a defense at all, and he doesn’t have the athleticism he had when he was a great football player. Also says they still think they actually have a chance at a good season. Highly unlikely I don’t care if you get the best shut down corner in the league this team is trash. They are not gonna make the playoffs is highly likely. So let’s give up our first round pick next year that is gonna be better than a 15 someone here predicted. It’s gonna be a top 10 pick. That is highly likely. What the hell are they thinking. The problem is we have no game changing skill at any position. Juju just gonna get doubled the whole year. Let’s see how that works out. And Tomlin is not a good coach. Are coordinators, no team in the entire league besides the Steelers would have those clowns running their offense or defense. Are whole coaching staff are position coaches at best on any team in the league including Miami who with it a shadow of doubt is absolutely horrible football team. They can start looking at who they are gonna take with the number one pick. Let’s let the tape play out. The Steelers are garbage right now and that trade was so so stupid considering where the team is as a whole.

I doubt it’s D. If they didn’t feel good about the QB position for 2020, I doubt that they let a 1st rounder go.

Too early to expect mason to storm the NFL this will be his first start and his first time to play against a defense that will game plan for him, and honestly he needs an experienced QB to talk to on the sideline to help him out after each play, having another QB off the PS who hasnt started a game is of no benefit to mason, this will be a tough time for him before he gets comfortable as a starter which is going to take some time maybe 10 games before he gets to where he needs to be.....

That’s why it would of been nice to provide him with a QB coach leading up to this point and for the future.

1st round picks are crap shoots, 25% become good to great players, 25% become average to good players, 50% either bust out or play poor.

Look at the Steelers 1st round talents last 10 seasons and you will see this is true.

For every TJ Watt (great player) or Bud Dupree (Average player) or you get Jarvis Jones or Artie Burns (bust)

I'm not either, but I'm not in love with our new first round pick getting cooked by him and Brown.

What this trade is telling me is that Ben is fully committed to coming back to finish playing out his contract. The Steelers now do not need to draft a QB this season if Rudolph fails. So this was a great use of this years first round draft pick to help that ****ty secondary.

I see this move as being very risky. You have no idea how good Rudolph will be, and even if Ben comes back next year (50-50), his best days are behind him, assuming he sees the field.

Mason has to be a whole hell of a lot better than last week but we're in a better shot than yesterday morning thanks to this.

That's true, but you gotta think if a player has his first 3-4 years wasted with bad coaching, what are the odds he's going to develop and play well anywhere? Even if he had potential, the first few years are huge for development. If that's taken away, it's gotta be hard to be successful. It's like trying to teach a kid to speak at 10 years old instead of 2-3. Going to be much harder.

He’s a lower risk than a draft prospect. Especially if you are talking about using that pick on a QB.

The secondary has been in dire need for years. As it turns out, Davis has landed on IR.
