    Hm?! Unathletic you say?! Interesting.

I take it him for a First Down is unathletic?! What about that side-winder pass of his to Vance?! Do those constitute as unathletic?!

He's athletic enough to run for first downs, I'll take that, he also can move around in the pocket some.

What i have noticed from Mason is that he does not fear the pass rush. He evades and keeps his eye on the target. LOTS of poise and confidence

Mason will be just fine. I expect him to have a solid season. Not elite but solid. Needs to get a year under his belt.

Still expect #7 to be back next year.

I think anyone expecting the Steelers to go on a run with Mason like Ben did in 2004 is dreaming a bit. We dont have the defense like we did back then.

I love his confidence and patience. Though he was forcing the ball at times yesterday. I have high hopes for him. I’m not going to jump the gun and say he’s going to be an all time great just yet but I do think he has the ability to be elite, I always have. You don’t do what he did in college and not be special.

What really surprised me was the zip he had an that TD and even that INT. We didn’t see that in preseason.

I'll say this I look forward to seeing Mason Rudolph compete. I'm looking much more forward to it than say Landry Jones had to play 14 games to finish the season.

I liked the confidence and poise he showed and he does throw a nice ball, his run for a first down showed some spirit and a willingness to compete.
Rudolf will only be successful if the defense can somehow come together and improve a huge amount. The front seven had a good game but was gassed by the end. The back end is still a bit of a confused mess.

Mason will have to bump the average per attempt. Both he and Ben were under 6. Passing game was not working. Maybe they will bring Eli in and it will help.

No haven’t you heard. WR is the least of our worries. Even if two of them (we know who they are) are basically useless right now. He’s not gonna win us a SB so why bother.

I don't know what the problem is, but for a rook who's just trying to stay on schedule, not throw picks, keep the completion percentage high and score some point to now have to worry about fixing system problems is a bit much.

Yeah, why is that? Considering the head coach was a DB coach and DC. :hmm:

James Washington should be starting. Rudolph and Washington are locked in having played together. The kid is poised, not scared. I liked his presser where he said he needed to improve and would be in the film room. Washington said today Mason always is prepared and was always in the film room.

He will inject this offense, give it the spark it was lacking. Its the defense or lack there of. Why is it year after year about this defense being so putrid? Its getting old. Drafting and developing has been below average, so hence you get what you get. This is an issue that is at the feet of Colbert and Tomlin and the scouts.

I just wonder....if the 49's might just be breathing a sigh of relief and maybe they decide to take a nap knowing the backup is going to start on Sunday.

Again, this scenario has played out numerous times in all of sports where the backup is coming to town and the home team takes their foot off the gas a bit and then before you know it, they are in a game.

Not saying it will happen but players are funny in that when the star goes down there is always a bit of letdown by the other team. Maybe the Steeler D gets a pick or a couple of fumbles and helps Mason out.

I think the game will be more interesting than what people are saying.

Tomlin was a wideout in college maybe that explains why he's so good at drafting receivers.

Well that is the multi million dollar question we all keep asking. You know if Belichiks defense was that bad he would take charge, Tomlin just stands there looking the part.

Welcome to Pittsburgh Mason. We're kind of critical of our QB's here. Just ask any of them.

    I wish you the best.
