It was pretty clear watching on television that something was wrong. They kept showing him grab the arm after he threw the ball.

Even if it was the exact same injury, it probably wouldn't mean the same thing now. That Bradshaw injury was over 30 years ago. The treatment of injuries has advanced quite a bit.

That said, at age 37, I'm betting he is done.

Does this mean he'll be dusting off the old Crotch Rocket?

I bet he is back. To competitive to let this take him out... and I think there is a little chip on his shoulder after AB said he made Ben not the other way around.

Mason might take us far. One thing I think this team needed was an exciting change somewhere to fire up the players. This is it. I hope they rally to this challenge, and overcome the bad coaching.

I keep seeing these posts suggesting this is somehow a positive. It's not. Maybe Rudolph will become something great, but people need to stop with this idea that the Steelers somehow get better by subtracting great players from the roster. Losing Bell hurt. Losing Brown has hurt more. The same will be true of Roethlisberger.

You fans are assuming a lot, Peyton Manning came back from neck surgery which is more serious in his late thirties. Ben ain't retiring.

If the Steelers go a roll and make the playoffs... Ben may be the most expensive backup QB of all time if he's back next year. Steelers will have to pay Rudolph eventually.... if he produces wins.

Yeah, we are almost certainly not going anywhere now without Ben but we likely weren't anyway. The offense was completely inept with Ben running it the way he wanted. This felt like a wasted year to me but now we can at least learn something about Rudolph and whether he might be the future at QB.

If Ben comes back in 2020 healthy, he starts, he won't be a backup.

Or this turns into a Cinderella story. See the 01 Pats as an example.

Bottom line was a change was needed. Obviously I didn't want it to happen this way. But Rudolph can play.

93.7 the fan has said the NFL has started an investigation into why the Steelers didn't have Ben on the injury list as now Decastro has said he knew Ben was injured after the Patriot game. If it turns out that Tomlin knew about the injury and didn't report it, the penalty could be harsh.
The Seahawks had to forfeit a 5th round pick for not placing a backup lineman on the list. The penalty for not listing a franchise QB could be more severe.
