Been a little bit since Ive been able to get back to the site, but is it me, or do some players seem to "put off" a nagging injury until camp? James Harriosn has a knee issue that flared up while he was in camp. Ok, I understand that, BUT if he was working out in the off season wouldn't it have done that during his conditioning? Its not like his knee just became an issue last week or last month as it has been an issue for a few months, so why not get it fixed back in March, April, May? D Moore (WR Oak) has had a bad hammy for months, and now he may not play on MNF (not that I care) but since it has been an issue for so long wouldn't the team seek a treatment long ago since a hammy can drag on as it has for months. These are just two players off the top I can think of, but if it hurts in April Im sure a team doc "might" have suggested a scope months ago as these players are investments to the organization. Just my two cents, but I have a hard time believing Harrison and his injury were undiscovered until camp began........anyway, SNF cant get here soon enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just because Harrison was working out/etc before this doesnt mean the knee was an issue then or it did the same thing then. Sometimes it takes some certain situation(s) for things to happen. Not saying it did or didnt bother him back then as I do not remember. Also the other train of thought...is sometime a lot of these more minor (yet sometime nagging) injuries are thought to heal themselves with time and so on. Surgery is usually a last resort for injuries.

I agree with bad boy it does seem like something should have been done so these two would have been ready at the start of the seasob

I would think they would have addressed it when it came up instead of waiting until training camp because it sits them back so far. Harrison might not be ready until week three and we don't know what kind of "football shape" he'll be in then. This is probably Harrison last year with the Steelers or at least at a reduce salary. I guess we'll be looking at OLB in the draft

i'm not sure why everyone thinks this will be harrisons last year. yes, i do agree and have stated this for years about waiting until the season is ready to start before some of these injuries are addressed. the knee swelling didn't just happen because camp opened. JH didn't even participate when this started happening. surely this was noticed when he was squating 600lbs. in the offseason.

I'm pretty sure Harrison injured the knee during one of the OTAs - and I agree - he should have had it fixed back then. With medical technology what it is today, an MRI and scope would have made him good to go in camp and ready for the opener. This particular injury does irk me because the Steelers knew of it, and chose to prescribe rest instead of surgery and finally opted for the surgery when it was too late to get him back.
