4 ****ing times this team needed to be able to get one yard to keep drives alive and get back in the game and each time the playcalling was just absolutely pathetic. Here is an idea RUN STRAIGHT AHEAD and quit going 4 wides and empty set on 3rd and 4th and 1 and calling pitch plays to Conner 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage. The fact that they did these things that many times over and over again after they obviously didn’t work the first time is just ridiculous. It’s beyond frustrating how stupid this coaching staff is at times.

I miss the days of The Bus. He gets those first downs every time.

I truly believe a lot of our problems are due to Ben. We all know he's a baby who whines if he doesn't get what he wants, and we also know he usually gets what he wants. Ben doesn't like being under center. He wants to be in shotgun. The result is a lot of our plays, even short yardage ones, are designed out of the shotgun. Ben obviously helps us win games, don't get me wrong, but he also creates problems.

Ding,ding,ding....he’s a blessing and a curse. Obviously right now he’s our best bet and we live or die by him but this is getting tiresome and frustrating. You have to do what’s best for the team. Not being able to covert short yardage isn’t best for the team. That falls at Ben’s feet. I know the fear of life after Ben is a crippling fear for many around here but ask yourself...what are we winning with the current state of affairs?

Tomlin and this coaching staffs complete inability to make adjustments on the fly as well is a huge problem on this team and has been for many years now and it’s getting tiresome to talk about time and time again. Things had better get fixed moving forward here. Because there are no distraction excuses here anymore this year like Bell and AB for the Steelers to blame this crap on.

Weren't we supposed to re-install the QB sneak since Haley left?

That was when Ben and Tomlin were playing/coaching? for a extension. Mission accomplished....

Plays from Ben and the coaching staff are missing a football fundamental; Get the 1st down.

It's far more important to keep trying to get 1st downs than it is to make huge plays or score on every down. This is fundamental to moving the ball forward a little at a time and keeping the defense off the field.

Instead, we get Ben throwing long passes to try to get 30 or 40 yards, when only 3 or 4 are needed for the 1st down. This is destroying the opportunity to keep the O on the field and to keep driving toward the goal line. It's at least the 3rd year in a row that this has been going on.

And I know I've mentioned this multiple times here, but it really fits with this thread.

Switzer may set some kind of record this year for receptions with less than 2 yards gained. He can be tackled by a stiff breeze.

This has always been an issue with Switzer. My son and I have been making comments about it since last year. He's great at making the catch, and terrible at getting yards after the catch.

In 2018 he was the third worst in the league in terms of expected YAC vs actual YAC according to the NFL Next Gen stats for all receivers that had at least 43 targets last year.

I'm not sure how they determine that and how much it reflects reality but it does seem to confirm the eye test.

    He averages almost 4 yac.

Switzer is the least of their problems.

At least he actually catches the ball. I'd like to see what he could do down field a little more, instead of getting his receptions at or behind the line of scrimmage (most the time).

I think Dionte Johnson should be moved up on the depth chart to either be the number 3 or dare I say the number 2 receiver next week against Seattle. I don’t trust anything I saw from Moncrief last night that leads me to believe he is gonna be a solid option as a number 2 receiver
