He already had about 16 mill guaranteed under current contract, the new amount is only about 2.5 mill more than Gurley or Bell (whoever had the most guaranteed, and the contract is extended to 8 years. I believe the biggest chunks (and all guaranteed money) will be paid out in 2022 and 3, thus taking it well into the new CBA. I doubt he ever sees the last years of that money (usual for NFL contracts). Still a lot of money after they have spent so much on their O line and have a QB and WR that want their money.

I'd rather see him have a pair of 200 yard rushing games... in wins against the Pats.
The other 13 games, it really doesn't matter.
(The remaining game, against the Steelers... stink.)

Le’Veon Bell set to reach 8,000 scrimmage yards in 63 games, fastest ever

Posted by Michael David Smith on September 4, 2019

When Jets running back Le'Veon Bell plays his first game as a Jet on Sunday, it will be the 63rd game of his career. And he’ll almost certainly do something no player in NFL history has done in his first 63 games.

Bell is set to reach 8,000 career yards from scrimmage, and by doing it he’ll be the fastest player ever to get to that mark. Bell currently has 7,996 yards from scrimmage, so he’ll most likely top 8,000 on his first touch.

Eric Dickerson currently owns the distinction of the fastest player to 8,000 yards from scrimmage.

Well this is quite depressing. But what good did it do the Steelers?

That makes sense. So it’s about $35m in new money. Given the way they use him it’s probably unlikely he’ll still be playing in the NFL in 8 years but he will retire a very wealthy man.

I'm not sure Elliot sees all that money as I assume he's going to be suspended/banned because he can't stop getting in to altercations. It seems like it's a habit with that guy.
Over/under on how many touches it'll take him to get that? I'm gonna say about 6. His line doesn't know how to block for him, they've never played with him before.

It's not all about you lev. Same with AB. We are a better team with multiple players making plays. These two just don't get that.

Counter-argument: It has taken Bell 7 seasons to reach that milestone.

By comparison, Adrian Peterson reached 8000 yards from scrimmage in 5 seasons.
LeSean McCoy had 9000 yards in his 6th season.

Another interesting stat on LeVeon Bell is that he will be playing his 67th game out of a possible 104 over his career. In other words, he is available 64% of the time!

Interesting, that’s 2/3 of a player and yet he wanted paid as a RB and WR. Hmmm....

Plus he said he wanted less of a work load.

And I also think a breakdown of games missed due to injury versus games missed due to suspension or hold-out would be interesting as well. I think it would prove him to be incredibly productive and durable...... and incredibly unreliable.

And possibly be broke in 10 years. Would like to think that is a stretch, but some of these guys blow through money as fast as it comes in, something tells me this guy is one of them.

I hope he does as well as he can. Instead of how special he is, I think he will display how special that O-Line was he walked away from.

Sadly, this may be his bright spot during a subpar season. The Jets May be looking to trade him to the Raiders for a 2020 3rd and 5th round pick.

Dumbass doesn’t learn from his own experience.... all he has to do is leave the room for 30 seconds, and his chosen women will steal the croutons. Problem solved!

Leave'on's opening day performance today against the Bills:

    17 carries for 60 yds for a 3.5 avg.
    6 rec for 32 yds for a 5.3 avg. with 1 TD

    pretty special...

Against the Bills vaunted defense no less. It’s going to be tough sledding all year for Bell!

I did see Le'Veon working on his rap career last year at Cold Stone Creamery, "Hey Guys, We got a tip...…"

Hey Guys, We got a tip
When I smoke weed I like artichoke dip
This hatin' and talkin,' I guess that makes me a target
I see that they wanna judge me by what goes in my wallet

    Some people just can't relate
Just look at my point of view
I don't have the time to waste
    They wanna replace the Juice
And you know I beat the case, uh
You think if I sat out, I'd be sluggish
You think they won't pay me 'cause a drug test
Fun fact, I ain't never failed one, that's on me
You so worried 'bout the weed, what 'bout those PEDs
Got this platform, I'ma use it
Just 'cause I play ball don't mean I can't make music
