Whats the word on Trai Essex?

Has anyone heard anything on Essex? Has the Steelers brought him back?

most talking heads are thinking that if Trai is brought back it won't be until after week 1..so his salary will not be guaranteed... also..Decastro's injury may be more than 8 weeks so they have time to decide whether or not to even place him on "special" IR... who knows...what if we lose Ben to a broken wrist on opening day...he could be a better candidate for IR return...

Based on what I have heard, they are not putting DeCastro on the 8 week DL for now. They will let it play out for a few weeks and see if he is the one which makes the most sense. Essex will not be brought back for now.

 

Sorry but he doesn't even deserve mention in an existing thread let alone his own thread. In my opinion, he had his shot with us over and over again but never made it. Time to move on.

I'm going to ask a non related (to this thread) question here because I don't want to make a new topic and it was probably discussed somewhere that I haven't seen and since this topic doesn't seem to carry much importance I figured I'd flip it maybe.

I haven't hear much post surgery news regarding DeCastro or Spence? Not even when I look online. Anyone have anything?

 

I humbly disagree...I think my avatar's assets are at least EQUALLY important to Decatro and Spences post surgery news.....

the one that's been hushed up is brown. has anyone heard anything about his knee injury? we could be down 2 DB's against peyton.

i don't think essex brings as much to the table as what we already have here now. lee also did an admirable job if they have to sign someone and alot cheaper without much dropoff in play. beachum got better in his last two games to make what essex brought expendable.

 

Bouchette just said on twitter the Steelers are not bringing back Essex. His release was based on performance and the fact that they think Beachem will be his replacement as a swing man on the OL that could potentially play all 5 positions.
