#91 given out already?

imagine if you got 91 during training camp. The omen of knowing you are going to be cut because you can't possibly wear the jersey of a great like Aaron Smith

it's not out of the question yet that bryant will be cut. he did see action last year for a brief stint. with casey possibly on the PUP list for the first 6 weeks, he may make a showing this year too.

Just saying ...ALL NFL teams had atleast 2 (If not 3) chances at him and no one bit........

Bryant is gone, but Adrian Robinson has asked for Smith's old number. The article doesn't say he has it yet, just that he asked for it. On the Steelers' official roster, he is still #46, but of course that will have to change.

Also, Brandon Johnson must change his number from 48 and has asked for 57 or 59 (I'm assuming he gets 57), and Robert Golden announced himself that he will go from #30 to #21.

The only number that matters is the one with $ in front of it followed by a couple of commas. Who gives a fat rats ass if someone wears 91. Find something else to beeyotch about. Another player wearing 91 doesn't mean disrespect to Smith nor does it taint his legacy.

Yeah, but that was months ago. I think he's found other things since then.

 

One number that will NEVER -EVER, be given away is 12. As for the rest of the numbers.......who knows.

 

I'm just now reading it thanks to someone bringing it back to the top. Like someone else said in this thread, there are only so many numbers available for all your guys at mini camp, OTAs, etc. And you cant duplicate numbers on some of these guys who will get cut. It shouldnt really be a big deal. Might even motivate a rook to really step up in tribute to the last guy who wore it. Or, maybe fall flat on his face. Either way it doesnt have a damn thing to do with A. Smith or his legacy, history, and character.

jsut looked at roster updated with final jersey numbers..looks like Robinson gets 57 and 91 goes to Brandon Johnson .....you better represent son....

 

I still think it should sit for at least 2 years!!!!!!!

However,as others have said....Giving it out this year has no reflection on Mr.Smith!!
