I remember the Steelers had some interest in him before he was drafted. IIRC the Packers drafted him right before the Steelers pick that year, I wanted the Steelers to draft him, they took JuJu that year I think. Jones wasn't happy in the way he was being used in Green Bay, maybe the Steelers should look into bringing him in for a workout.

I would also consider him an option. Never hurts to add more depth. Besides, there is no guarantee that Sean Davis stays after this season anyways.

Perhaps moving Mike Hilton to said spot could be within the plan?! We shall soon see.

Can't hurt to take a peek, we are weak at the safety position.

    Sign him! Sign everybody!

Seriously though, I don’t recall him working out very well for them. I’m not sold on Sean Davis at all (quite the opposite), but is Jones any better?

Maybe a change of scenery would work out for him.

Perhaps. My recollection is that he’s more of an in-the-box kind of safety like Edmunds, but you never know.

Definitely more of an in the box SS. Doesn't bode well that he didn't work in Green Bay.

Safeties seem to be getting harder to project. Remember Obi Melinwonfu?

The brass have not said a word about retaining Davis let alone starting any extension or contract. He is an average player.

As far as Josh Jones don't know much about him. As Wardismvp said they are weak at safety.

Change of scenery hasn't worked out very well in recent history around here. Worth a look I suppose but if you're getting let go after 2 seasons there's a reason.

I want to see Hilton keep getting a look at FS. Dump Davis after this year and give Hilton a nice FS deal.

With Hilton at FS and Edmunds at SS, I think that could work.

Let's see, Jones didn't like how his coaches were playing him so he becomes such a profession sphincter (i had to do it lol) that they had to cut a 2nd round pick after just 2 years. They obviously tried trading him instead but obviously couldn't even get a conditional 7th round pick for him.

So now you're suggesting we sign him? We've had enough clowns. We don't need more.

For a second round pick he hasnt impressed the packers to keep him, 12 starts in two years seems strange as well, is he a head case???

I said look into to it, even then I would only give him a vet minimum deal.

Hilton isn't a starter capable at FS, he's small at 185lbs, he also isn't fast enough.

Exactly!!! His super low salary combined with his Draft Status should make him attractive for at Least a looksee tryout but he’ll only have about a week to impress....

I say No Thanks!!! Is he better than Dangerfield? Kelley? M.Allen? Hilton? Or even Sutton? And these are our lowest safety depth chart guys!!!

I thought if he was cut does his rookie deal still counts if he signs with another team?

Hilton won't be starting at FS though , he might lose his slot CB job to Sutton.

Tyrann Mathieu was an All pro safety at 5'9 185 who runs 4.5.

Hilton may have been a UDFA but he is really good. If Davis misses time with the ankle I wouldn't be surprised if Hilton moves into that role.

The Steelers refused to sign Hilton to a longer term deal this offseason, they aren't that sold on him.
