Looking at that play again though, it was definitely by design. Faked a handoff and moved to his left, set, planted and threw the pass.

 

Chick’s contract (dead money if cut) makes it hard to let him go.

 

Well we are going to have to carry 5 OLBs this year then. I see there is an OUT after 2019 in the contract. No way we pay Chick 5+ million for 2020.

Skipper will not make it to the PS. He has 9 tackles, 3 sacks 1 FF and 1 FR in 3 games. He's flashing more than Ola did last year. He has to be kept.

 

Agree with all of this, but I fear that Skipper will be left unprotected and end up on a 53 man roster elsewhere.

I always try to temper expectations during the pre season. Its never as good as it seems but likewise never as bad as it appears either.

The Oline will be solid. #7 is still performing at an elite level. With Conner, Samuels and even Snell in short yardage, i feel great about the run game. Juju, Washington, Moncrief and Johnson make up a great WR corps. Vance should be a solid TE.

The Defense WILL be better than last year. Younger, faster and more aggressive.

I think we are a better team than last year. Easily better.

How great of a story line would it be to see the Steelers hoist the Lombardi after ridding themselves of Bell and Brown? I believe.
