It will be televised by NBC on Sunday at 8:00 EST, at least we don't have to worry about the network cutting away in the second half to carry another game like NFLNetwork did in the Chiefs game .

    Boo. I hate night games.

Better play Ben the whole 1st quarter if not the entire half unless he's shredding the defense and has 2 TD's on the board. Can't go into this season the way they began the last couple seasons with a slow start Ben. Especially against Brady and Belicheck.

Insanity for a preseason schedule, a late Sunday nighter..then a Thursday night game. At least a few more days prep before the opener, but still complete nonsense for preseason.

During the season I would certainly agree. In preseason a lot of game 3 will be played by people who won’t play game 4 and vice versa. Plus there isn’t any game plan. So this is almost like Penn State playing Sunday and Pitt playing Thursday.

Unless you are referring to us fans who have a late night Sunday and Thursday in which case I’m 100% with you.

I say this in jest but I'm beginning to get more serious about it, I think we should just sit out the starters that first game..... We just can't win up there and I think getting pummeled by those massholes isn't going to be a good thing for our team to start off with. I don't know what kind of BS they pulled but they look like they have the best wide receiver corp in the entire league. I forgot what the RB's were but they were good last year as well and their D has to have gotten better.

No way that would happen but if it did we would be the laughing stock of NFL after week 1. That would send a TERRIBLE message to the players.

Now what would be awesome, the Steelers do it and our second stringers beat them then tear down the SB banner they raised in our face:)

You have to send everything and the kitchen sink after them. Hit Brady every chance they get. I joked about forfeiting the game in another thread but in all honesty, this is where they need to show what they are made of.

It will probably end on some fluke PI play setting up a winning FG for them and I'll be po'd again but this will be big test and if they can come away with a victory then that could go a long way. Especially towards the end of the season should it come down to who plays where in the playoffs.

4 for 4 so far in the preseason. 2 Steelers wins and 2 Patriots wins.

You are right. The Steelers will beat them by much more than a field goal.

This thread makes me laugh. I remember when I played football. We had to play the entire season in 1 day, up hill both ways. Pads were for pu$$ies, and helmets were what the punter wore. After we sacked the QB, we went after their family. The science teacher asked our fullback to prove gravity, so our fullback threw the teacher out the window....and so on!

And it was always 0 degrees chill factor. It snowed with howling winds all season. Every offensive series one of the offensive linemen would fart in the huddle and another would adjust his jock strap ....and so on..

Great, time to find another TV provider. Found out last week that my local NBC provider is owned by a company..... in dispute with ATT/DirecTV.... so along with missing the NFL network.... I'll miss whichever games NBC covers. Yes I can always go get a digital HD antenna..... but why does turning the TV on have to be so complicated anymore. Might try out Playstation Vue, since I saw they renewed their NFL network stuff and carry local channels. Or maybe I'll just go back to the olden days and wait for the Monday morning paper to get delivered and check the box score in the sports section. :dontknow:

The game should be over by mid way through the 3rd quarter like it usually is when Steelers play at Gillette. I don't see how this game is gonna be any different. Hell... it may be over by halftime. Patriots will be on cruise control in 2nd half.

I love night games. Steelers have a pretty good record at 17-8 under the lights in the Tomlin era.

I hate night games. 1pm and 4pm games are much easier to cope with on the next work day.

Specifically, since I go, 1 pm home games, 4 pm away games.

But I’m an old grump. I vaguely remember thinking MNF was great when it first started and I could party at night and be functional the next day.
