They have 3 years most likely to elevate their status, historically for Ben to be a 3 time Super Bowl winner, or Tomlin to try and win a second Super Bowl. The organization realizes that by moving up in the draft to get a possible dynamic player in Bush, and spending more on free agents than usual in Nelson, Moncrief, and Barron.

Well since my Pirates suck major balls I can't wait for my love Ben and Mike, hate Ben and Mike or what is better known as a Steeler football season.

What I have been saying all along indirectly. It also allows Tomlin to oversee continual development of Mason Rudolph. Should Mason be "the guy" and when Ben does hang those cleats up for good, Tomlin himself will have to decide whether or not he wants to stay.

I would say though that to stay, winning a ring within these next three seasons is required.

I trust Ben can win another SB. MT, not so much.

I don't think that drafting Bush and spending some fa money had anything to do with the organization trying to elevate Ben and mt. We just lost a big chunk of offense, and our defense hasn't been real good for a few years. We stunk at lb. Our first round pick corner also stunk. That's why we made those moves.

This year will determine if MT still has the locker room or the players aren't listening anymore.

It will also prove whether or not he can get this team over the hump and solid run into playoffs. If not mistaken MT just signed a year deal. This is a test if imho

My thought is once Mike Tomlin, always Mike Tomlin. He is what he is and I am not sure what people are thinking is going to magically change. Is he all of a sudden going to try harder, read a strategy book, watch more film and that will turn give us a better prepared team and more victories? Maybe, maybe not. We'll see.

Good point. I guess we will see. Coaching is one element to the success of a team. The other part is exeecution and player performance. Since they got rid of Bell and Brown this team could prove to be better and more cohesive.

I think he can see that some mistakes need to be corrected in his coaching style. Can he find the answers? Maybe, maybe not, but I think he will try some different approaches this year. Last year had to be one of his worst seasons if not the worst as the head coach.

He'll still be here no matter what happens next season. Art's head has been stuck in his own you know where for quite some time now.

Well he is under contract next season. I honestly think he is preparing to move on with his life's work. I have no problem with the way Art 2 is running his franchise, still a leading organization in the league imo.

It sounds like Colbert is as well. But I'm just saying neither is going to be fired no matter what imo.

That wasn't my point , with the moves they made it gives them a better opportunity to win a SB.

Not completely true. Ben has a 3 year deal to MT's 1 to prove it.

Ben is probably too comfortable with Tomlin as his coach. If MT leaves would he want to stick around & learn a new system?

I think you re being overly optimistic about a 3 year window. Both Ben and Tomlin are year to year at this point. I hope Ben plays at a high level for 3 more years. I just dont think it is a given.

This. And if the three ring circus doesn't stop, regardless of who orchestrates it, it won't matter. And I think Ben is out of patience when it comes to a locker room full of guys who are all about me. I'd bet that if the circus continues this year, Ben will retire.

Ben doesn't take as many hits as he did when was younger, and other older QB's like Brees and Brady are still playing at a high level. The Steelers have a good OL, so Ben should continue to get good protection.

Tomlin will be here for the next 3 years, barring a major collapse of the team. Tomlin is signed thru 2021, with a team option for 2022, I don't know how you figure he has 1 year .

I hope he is not here for 3 more years, and forget about it if Ben leaves first.

If the Steelers somehow win a Super Bowl in the next 3 years, it will be because of Roethilsberger. It's really up to his performance. The window has shut, IMO... the defense has declined to the point of liability in close games. Look no further than all of the 3rd down and 20-somethings that are given up on a regular basis. The AFC is too competitive now and Steelers are simply not as strong as several other teams.... Patriots, Chiefs, Jaguars, Colts, Chargers... to name a few.

Yeah, and people can laugh at me about the Jaguars. With Nick Foles at QB and a healthy Fournette, I would bet the house on the Jags every time vs. Steelers.

I can only imagine the whining on here if Tomlin were anywhere close to as bad as a lot of you seem to think. He's at the very least a top 5 coach in the NFL. I think people need to pay more attention to the rest of the league so they can get a better handle on what coaching is like league wide. There aren't a lot of better options out there and I'm not even particularly a fan of Tomlin.

I wouldn’t bet on the Jags beating us, but I do think they will win the AFC South (barring major injuries). Looking at the rosters, I think it’s a toss up if we meet in the playoffs. If they’re finally out of Ben’s head after the comeback win, I like our chances. You’re far to quick to write off your own team.
