    July 8, 1933
    Pittsburgh Steelers Founding Date

A legacy has to start somewhere, and for the Pittsburgh Steelers that legacy began on July 8, 1933, when the franchise was founded.

I'm a traditional type of dude, but what's weird Is that's not why i like them.

Growing up we didn't have cable but we had channel 6 via antenna.

Just enough for the kids to watch the Steelers play lol.

I do love their history though. Good owners run through the family. Not like many other teams.

I love the intensity of Lambert. He goes in with Dick Butkus as my favorite LB of all time. The two just beat the hell out of people lol

I was reading a book called “Lambert, and other men in the middle”. It is a bunch of short stories. One of them was at the HOF banquet where the writer and the late Tom Landry were talking. In one part of the middle of the room was Butkus all by himself. In another area was Lambert all by himself. Landry said “Look at them, middle linebackers. Nobody likes them. They don’t like anybody else. They don’t even like each other”.

Ray Nitschke was another one in the same level as those two. Tough and mean.
