If Martavis Bryant gets reinstated, should the Steelers give him a second chance?

No, he wasn't good in his last season with the team.

Terrible argument by the writer. He acts as if Bryant is an accomplished receiver. Moncrief is more accomplished than Bryant was and is more than capable of taking the top of the defense off with 4.40 speed.

I get having concerns behind JuJu but if you are going to make a case for bringing in another WR, don't bring in someone with just as many question marks.

I have no concern about JuJu as number 1...I have a concern for the rest of our WRs, but Martavis is not the answer, even on the field.

I was about to say that Bryant is well passed his second chance by now. While I disagree with him being in trouble for weed in the first place I think with everything the Steelers have gone through recently and the supposed fresh start this season it just doesn't make any sense to bring back someone who was discontented when he was last here.

If he offered to play for the league minimum with zero guarantees I doubt the Steelers would have him back. They have enough receivers.

I’d have no issue with him getting a shot elsewhere though.

    They should get him.

... And then call the Raiders to find out if they want to part with a 5th or 6th round pick to acquire him. :icon mrgreen:

He was suspended in December, I can't imagine he'd be reinstated for this season. They made Josh Gordon wait forever, I'd bet Bryant has to wait at least a year.

But even if he gets his wish, what he gonna get offered? League minimum, no promise of roster spot, cut in camp at the slightest sign of problems. That's the best he can expect. He'll be 28, he's not a young WR now, there'll be a 4th round WR that you'd rather waste time developing. His window is closing fast.

I personally think Moncrief will have the best year of his career. With teams focusing on Juju, Moncrief will have many one on one chances with teams second best cornerback. Moncrief has always been on my radar as a very fine receiver on poor teams. He will blossom as a Steeler. Bryant has burnt his bridges not only with us but probably with every team in the league.

We already blew multiple opportunities to draft a speedster WR like Mecole Hardman or even Emmanuel Hall as a UDFA. If we wanted a Martavis clone we could've drafted Hakeem Butler. Unfortunately our WR coach love sub 4.50 WRs. Dez Bryant's speed could take the bottom off a coverage ...no thankyou

No freakin way that ship has sailed. We have a good group of WR's here in Juju, Washington, Moncrief, DJ, Switzer & Rogers. We have guys that can go deep and we have guys to play the slot. Some of these guys can do both so I like what we have not need or room to bring Bryant back.

I would say Moncrief until/unless he gets injured. Kid can ball.
