I watched him last season and liked his running ability. Didn't see any of him this year. I thought his running reminder me of LB before he got into great shape. I expect Snells conditioning can and will improve ala Bell Conner and reportedly Samuels. That should help his burst and speed.

Snell is gonna be the starter at some point. He's legit. Dominated the SEC and i saw he's 3rd all time in the SEC in rushing TDs and he had a year of eligibility left . This feels like more than a depth pick , he's being brought in to compete to be the guy or at least get a lot of carries

I just saw Tomlin on the NFL network and he said Snell single handily changed the culture at Kentucky from SEC also rans to a winning program.

I don't care if he has heavy feet or lacks break away speed or that some say he is a plodder.
Just as long as he plods ahead 3 or 4 yds when its needed. We haved had a great short yardage back since Bettis retired. And for all the numbers LB put up he was not a good choice on 3 rd and 2. Sometimes you just need a guy to put his head down and plow straight ahead and get those 2 yards. I like this pick.

Being a long suffering KY football fan, I can say his class changed the losing culture there..If he can succeed hopefully at least we will have a better locker room..

Look, I'm biased because I'm a born and raised Kentuckian and huge UK fan, but Snell has the "it" factor. I know that's overused and lame, but it's true.

He doesn't have the best measurables, but the kid has an enormous heart and will to win. Keep in mind that the unbelievable numbers he put up at UK were against SEC elite defenses surrounded by players that were part of the bottom of SEC recruiting class rankings. Opponents knew he was getting the ball, and they still couldn't stop him. That's heart.

He is originally from just outside of Columbus, OH, but he was not offered a scholarship from OSU. That seems to have put a chip on his shoulder that's never fallen off.

Dude is the kind of blue collar RB the Steelers love. He'll be a fan favorite for sure.

As a Penn State fan I never knew him before the Citrus Bowl, I dang well knew who he was afterwards. This kid ran all over them. I was impressed with his game. I’m sure glad he’s a Steeler now!

Snell will become a fan favorite, a lot of fans are criticizing this pick, but I bet he beats out Samuels for the #2 RB next season.

Well I wanted a RB with some speed to add that break away threat for the offense, but that just doesn't seem to be Fichtner's direction. But if the yards pile up, I guess I can't complain about the method. I'm all for the high character this guy seems to possess.

Snell averaged 5 yard per carry in college and a lot of it was actual 5 yard carries, which I like.

Only one game, but he looked legit in the Citrus Bowl. How many times have we anguished over this team's maddening inability to grind on the clock when they have a lead? Or to give the defense a blow and/or improve FP because they have lacked a tough, inside RB? Benny seems to fill those roles. I like this pick.

Wow, the Bus with heavy feet???? Every critique from players, coaches, analysts, and ballet dancers were amazed how light his feet were. He rumbles like a bus, but turned like a Porsche.

is Snell a punishing runner that wears down defenses and gets stronger as the game goes on? Reason I ask is that if he is used as a late reliever it would limit his effectiveness if he didn't get early carries and wear the defense out like with Bettis.

Read my post more carefully. I was saying that Bettis was light on his feat, that no one with a clue would have ever said he had heavy feet. It's one of the negatives about Snell I've seen in a few scouting reports, that he has heavy feet.

I think he did that against Penn State in the bowl game last season.
