He got thrown around like a rag doll at the Senior Bowl and he isn't particularly fast. What he sounds like is a Matakevich type who lacks the physical tools to be more than a good special teams player in the NFL.

At the very best, he's probably a project because he is a projection from a pass rushing end in college to an NFL outside linebacker. (Though I read one scouting report that suggested he will move inside.)

Once again, there were better options available. Harmon, the wide receiver from NC State, would have been a fantastic value in this position.

They got Buggs later, so that worked out. I do like Buggs, but Sutton seems like a waste.

Regarding not needing another receiver, it's called competition.

I'm all for competition but we have

    JuJu
    Washington
    Moncrief
    Johnson
    Switzer
    Eli

I'm not sure Harmon had any chance of cracking the top 5.

This guy is gonna be like the matekavich(sp). Monster college numbers put up at a smaller school but won't do anything as a LB in the NFL. Probably will be a good special teams guy which is fine for a 6th rounder. This was a really good draft Imo aside from the TE pick.

Well I disagree with that but there's a HOF QB throwing to them.

There's a sense that the Steelers know how to evaluate WRs in the draft which is true. But dont discount the fact that Ben can elevate our WR play.

If James Washington is your 2 receiver then that's a bad receiving core.. I like Washington but not as a 2

I think moncrief and the Toledo WR will be ahead of Washington no doubt

I think Moncrief is a gonna have a huge season with Ben throwing him the ball. He’s gonna shock some people.

I don't think Johnson is good enough to make that top five. They had a chance to make up for that mistake by getting a great value later and passed.

But hey, you disagreed with me, so AQL gave you a winner tag. Congrats?

Like you I believe people are underestimating Moncrief. He is no AB but he is a good receiver who has never had a reliable QB situation. I’m hoping for 6-10 TD’s from him and a couple from Washington too.

I don’t know anything about Sutton Smith I’m afraid

Did you really think the Steelers would double dip at WR because you think they made a mistake? DJ had a rd 3 grade and Harmon rd 4-5 so who is thought of as the better receiver? Harmon is going to have trouble getting open at the next level meanwhile DJ makes all sorts of daylight for himself. Harmon also offers very little in YAC where as DJ is a playmaker with the ball in his hands. DJ can get stronger, Harmon can never be more athletic.

    No mistake.

I'm not sure where you got your grades, but ESPN and CBS both had Harmon ranked ahead of Johnson.

Johnson did relatively little as a receiver last season against lower-level competition.

Harmon is slow, he ran a 4.6, probably why he lasted this long.

Well it will be fun (or painful) to watch. I agree that Moncrief has that potential, also believe what we saw Washington do in the last couple of games reveals he has great potential. That said, will be a long season if they do not deliver, lol.

Johnson doesn't really have great measurables, either.

He's not big, but he is more quick than fast. AB didn't have great measurables either, I'm just saying .
