I guess I don’t see the inconsistency? Fair isn’t equivalent to same. A game of football is fair without both sides having the same number of possessions etc.

There is a ton of consistency in that statement, leaders understand the value of culture.

    Leaders understand the difference.

    You did not. I did.

If you have to use the outhouse at work while others use the executive wash rooms is that fair? Not saying it doens't happen every day but that doesn't make it fair.

In this country, fair and different isn't permitted!

    Nope.

I’ve just had a lot of people work for me over the years. You treat them all equally. You by no means treat them all the same. And yes, those that work the hardest get more latitude. They have earned it.

The NFL is a capitalist organization, not socialist.

Maybe it was built that way but this country has become "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" and while that is what it is, it doesn't quite fall into the realm of fair.

But I understand what you are saying about equal but different, it's just that when some cross over into abuse and go unchecked, it blows all of that out of the water.

Umm no. Ask any non-caucasian. Ask any parent whose kid was drafted to fight in Vietnam.

This doesn't make sense. If you're treating them equal, aren't you treating them the same?

Capitalist through merchandising and ticket sales. Socialist in basic structure. The Draft is socialist as hell... the worst team drafts first, the Patriots draft last. So is the Salary Cap.... socialist as hell.

Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder would love if the NFL was more capitalist in structure. Without a salary cap, the Cowboys and Redskins would dominate like the Yankees and Red Sox do now in MLB. Large market teams would consolidate all of the talent... while small market teams like Steelers (Pirates in MLB) would get the scraps and rarely compete.

Thank Zeus/Jehovah/Allah/Buddha and Shiva for our socialist NFL.

I'm probably misunderstanding the phrasing or context or whatever, but the word 'same' is in the definition of 'equal'.

I think a better way of saying it is that treating everyone fairly does not necessarily mean treating them all equally. If I am a mechanic and one car needs spark plugs and another needs new brakes it would be very unfair to give them both spark plugs. It would be very fair to give spark plugs to the car that needs spark plugs and brakes to the car that needs brakes. Fair but unequal.

You are correct sir grammatically, the other guy is just learning.

My point is for example, I have a lot of Union people who work for me. They get treated equally in wage, start time, benefits and expectations. Some of them though are harder working, more reliable, etc., so they do get more latitude in job assignments and supervision. In this regard some are treated differently.
