Should Wallace contract exceed Brown's?

All indications are that the contract the Steelers offered to Mike Wallace was marginally higher than the one they awarded to Antonio Brown. Some reports say that he was offered a 5 yr / $50 million deal whereas AB's deal was a 5 yr / 42.5 million deal. With AB's strong play last year and in the pre-season and his unselfish attitude and with the complications with the Wallace negotiations should the Steelers now put a contract on the table for Wallace that exceeds the one they just awarded Brown?

There seems to be to be a problem with the reasoning in the question. You can't say: offer him less because he's acted selfishly when Brown hasn't. Brown wasn't in the same situation as Wallace. The whole reason Wallace was staying out (acting "selfishly") was part of his contract negotiation, not necessarily an aspect of his character or work ethic.

So effectively the question doesn't seem to me to be any different to asking how much Mike Wallace is worth. And at this point, I would still say that Wallace is better than Brown (maybe not in a season or two, mind), but regardless of this the team is far better with both Wallace and Brown under contract.

wallace should get a higher contract. he's been here a year longer, was a higher draft pick, is the number 1 receiver and has scored alot more TD's. mike made brown better last year. seems right to me. now, i'm not talking over the top more but yes, he has earned more so far.

Wallace's contract pretty much as to exceed Browns.

If the Steelers offerered Wallace $50M for 5, they can't very well go back to him now and say "Well, we Brown took less, so now you do to". If that's the Steelers strategy (and I'm betting heavily that it's not), they might as well save their breath, let Wallace play 2012, get whatever contribution they can from me and watch him walk out the door next February.

Why do people still respond to you about Wallace?
Why do you constantly talk about him when you have such little positive to say?
Your crusade to complain about Wallace is played out.
Your opinion is your opinion, but it's not very educated or honest, Wallace just isn't a lot of the things you say he is.
Some one should hold you accountable.....in my mind you should never be seen or heard rooting for Wallace if he plays this year, you root for a player to fail in a team sport, the team suffers too, you actually wanted to do this......root for wallace to fail????? Hahaha just sad.

But like I said I hope every poster holds you accountable for what you've said about Wallace all year.
Call him soft, spoiled, over rated and root for him to fail. I'll continue to beleive in the players on this team until they give me a REAL reason not to, and call my self a steeler fan.

And you can continue calling yourself....whatever it is you are?..............a steeler fan I guess?

BenWallace, why did you just respond to me about Wallace? I asked a simple question that requires a simple answer. I personally believe that AB is a more well rounded receiver than Wallace. I sincerely believe that Wallace has some flaws in his game that he needs to correct if he hopes to become a complete receiver. Contrary to popular belief, I'm not a Wallace hater. I do hate the actions of some players that seem to believe they have achieved more than they actually have and put themselves above the team. Where was Wallace the second half of last year? Where has he been in the playoffs and Super Bowl? Go ahead and hold me accountable for my opinion, I can handle it. Maybe Wallace will look like Swann and Stalls all rolled into one this year, who knows. But I believe AB is the better and more well rounded receiver at this point. Is it still okay to have an opinion on this board? And BTW BW, you can always CHOOSE to ignore my posts if youd like.

Brown looked awsome yesterday, 7 catches for over 100 yards and 2 TDs, MW better bring his game up a notch or two if he wants to catch up to Browns performance on the field, and Tomlin wont be standing in his office with open arms when Mike shows up either: Wallace has a lot of work to do to get back into football shape and prove whether or not he deserves a big contract, for this season Mike can just call Brown big money and Brown can call Mike little money....

What I have to say about Wallace is that this is Monday morning and he has not signed. They said it would be this weekend, so whats up. Perhaps he signs today sometime but anytime after that, its pure BS! This guy is slicing it thin as far as being ready for the opener, We don't know what kind of shape he is in, and if he learned the playbook he was given, infect, we don't know whats going on with him. If he doesn't sign this week then the Steelers need to move on without him. I see that he doesn't give a rats ass abot the organization, only about his self. I have no more patients for this guy.

Whatever the case may be, he has much work to do to impress Steeler Nation!

I believe they should get the same contract. They are equally important to the team.

True. I remember when Eric Green did the same thing in '94. He ended up settling for the 1 year deal but was out of shape and pain in the neck so he was gone the next year.

All I know if that we need them both. With them both I don't think their is a better set of wideout's on the same team in the whole NFL.
