After the game Tomlin said it's potentially severe could be ACL will have MRI not good news. Looks like he will be out for the season.

looks like we will get nothing from this draft class. But still high hopes for Adams.

Not getting much this year. I am really bummed about DeCastro. Seems the whole line is getting its arse kicked though.

Tough to swallow - but a risk anytime a player is on the field. I still think we're a good team - and DeCastro is a premium lineman. If the injury is season-ending - get it fixed, get it rehabbed, and he'll contribute to the success of this team for years to come. Next up - step up - and bring on Sept. 9!

According to WGR 550 Buffalo's Joe Buscaglia, Steelers rookie RG David DeCastro exited Ralph Wilson Stadium Saturday night on crutches and with a "big brace" on his injured right knee.
"Doesn't look good," observed Buscaglia, a Bills beat reporter covering Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers. We don't want to jump to any irresponsible conclusions, but the initial indications suggest DeCastro's injury could be season-threatening. The Steelers should have an update by Sunday. Per Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac, the organization initially fears DeCastro has torn his right ACL. Aug 25 - 10:50 PM

Yeah it stinks because neither pick will be starting anytime soon and we're back to square one. Do we make a trade for a lineman?

This is terrible news. Here's hoping he only tweaked something. Year after year out O-line seems to get beat up before the season even starts.

No. We don't trade for a lineman. We trade a lineman for a waterboy. Here's looking at you Gilbert. (i know that's bad but man i'm so mad right now. I'll calm down later.)

It was Kemo doing the falling down on Linemates legs the last few years.

According to Schefter, Decastro tore his MCL (8 games missed) unclear if he tore his ACL as well (would miss the whole season)

How many injuries are needed before they outlaw artificial turf anyway?

Man, how the tone on the board can change between the day after the draft and today!

Back then, weren't we predicting that nobody could stop our amazing new line, plus the number of weapons we now have, and if there was a problem, it was going to be DBs and MLB? I miss those days. I might start going back through the MB pages and reading those threads, and pretending they're more recent.

Settle down we have the same line we did last year only with a huge upgrade with colon. Bens sacks per passes were the lowest they have been in awhile last year i believe. Losing DD hurts but doesnt kill us. We have been to three super bowls and have the second longest winning season streak all with a ****ty line

This from Ed Bouchette in PG+:
David DeCastro’s knee injury, whatever it is, should keep him from playing this season but that is not the most important matter now. How will it affect his future?
An ACL tear might be preferable to the nerve damage that can be caused by other injuries to the knee, especially if it’s the patella and nerve damage. Ask Greg Lloyd or Tony Boselli who suffered such injuries and were never the same.

Boy, this doesn't exactly give you a warm and fuzzy feeling about his overall prognosis. I've gone from being extremely optimistic about the future of our OL to feeling like somebody just died. Why couldn't it have been the free agent pickup from Podunk State that sustained this injury (not that I'd wish this injury on anyone) and not the golden child who was going to lead our OL to the promised land?

Meh, just another media snot stirring up drama, these guys don't do warm and fuzzy. The MCL is a less severe injury then the ACL, thats all you need to know.
