Yeah! And the last time I was under 190 I was thinner.

There is a lot of risk with Bell. Whether he is overweight or not it has been a long time since he played football and the unique style of running he created is no longer unique.

When it comes to guys having issues with money, shy of just giving them what they want; what do you expect the organization to do other than what they did?

NFL players being divas and wanting a bigger slice of the pie is an every minute occurrence! Letting it fester to the point the Steelers did calls for drastic measures! Taking the best of the lose-lose situation they created does not make them smart or accountable.

correct. He gets no more money from the Steelers. the cap hit is the Steelers accounting for the money already paid.

Isn't there a son, Art Rooney ll Jr.
    I heard it was a 1st and a 3rd, and they'd throw in Gronk's bionic arm.

Fallacy. Steelers run the money the same way. 1 year guaranteed unless you are the QB and he gets 2 years. Steelers do not sign any free agents. Nothing would change but they would be able to spend more with their own guys.

AB definitely hurt his market value with his shenanigans, but he got a big fat contract for it - good for him. But the Steelers didnt get hurt on this deal. They just got a 3 and a 5 for a former 6 round guy. This is after getting 9 seasons out of him where 3 or 4 of those seasons, he was the best WR in the league. And, they weren't even paying him top WR money. I would say Pitt got way more mileage and benefit out of AB than anyone ever expects from a 6th rounder. It's not as bad as people make it out to be. Plus they are rid of that festering disease, which is priceless.

Arguably all 6 of his prime years he was the best in the league.

    I wouldn't call getting a 3 and a 5 for a 30 year old 6th rounder nothing.

Further makes my point. He was a 6th rounder, so Pitt got way more than their money's worth from him. And now they get 2 lower picks for a 30 year old on the back end of his career. I say it's a win for the Steelers.

The age is a legitimate justification, but the 6th round isn't anymore. We had the most talented receiver in the NFL and that deserves more -- maybe not a number 1 but at least a 2. That's just my thinking and letting Bell walk out the door for free doesn't help my opinion of the Brown trade.

I'd have been happy to dump him for nothing because he's a cancer and over 30. Two problems though, 1) the root cause of these problems, Tomlin, is still here and 2) we have $21M we can't spend to get an impact player on D. Now, maybe both of those issues will be resolved next year but we're running out of seasons with Ben.

That is definitely an optimist way of looking at it and the Steelers definitely got value off the time he was here. But the team has missed alot too on early draft picks. You can't deny that a lot was left on the table here. It was a wasted opportunity to be rewarded on hitting on a 6th round pick. I mean for God's sake, Amari Cooper fetched a 1st round pick. And now OBJ fetches a 1st, a 3rd and a promising safety.

Ab isnt the most talented. Hes just the hardest worker and most productive. Julio, Odell, and Hopkins are all more talented than AB.

Apparently you missed the game where Brown karate kicked a kicker on his way to a touchdown.

I am with all the way on that. But when production is some what similar you could argue the more talented guy

Just curious. These are essentially handshake deals ahead of time. Can a team reneg on the deal?
