I suppose then the team was not ready to embrace B.J. Finney as the future then like some thought; myself included. That being said though, at the very least, I am glad Pouncey is locked up for a few more years.

You can never have enough depth. BJ Finney almost played the whole year last year if Foster's knee injury would have been serious in camp. Finney is very good back up to have, can play both guard positions and can play Center. He is worth his weight in gold to have around for sure.

Per Jerry Dulac, 3 year, $29 million for Pouncey (2 years and $22 million in new money); 2 year, $8.25 million for Foster.

Finney is an insurance policy, he can backup 3 positions.

    True.

I just wish though that Finney would have been the starter to begin the 2019 Season. I can see the issue of now needing to acquire interior offensive line depth but that should not be too much of an issue in the upcoming Draft. That being said, I understand the reason behind the extension as continuity and synergy among the offensive line is critical. Ben cannot afford to get beat up anymore than he has already in his career.

I'm very happy. This means likely Ben will be around another 3 years with Al DD And pounce all signed to 2021

This is HUGE. This signals a Ben extension and keeps a very talented squad around. We’ll need a legit No. 2 to go with JuJu, but the idea that Pittsburgh is trash or “third at best” is greatly exaggerated.

Congratulations to both. Pouncey getting paid that big contract is great and well deserved. Foster too.

I saw they slapped a 2nd round tender on Finney? Don't have a link.

The depth on the OL is good, that will keep Ben playing for another 3 years. Ben has been sacked a total of 69 times the last 3 seasons.

Glad to hear this. I was hoping the Steelers would keep Foster around for a couple of more years.

They offered a tender for the restriction on Finney. What this means is they're investing in their offensive line which means they are investing in Ben which in my mind means they are investing in the Franchise. Let's not forget Okorafor did more than handle his own last year at tackle as a rookie.

I love the two signings. Pouncey deserves to be the highest paid center and Foster is consistent as they come and a captain on this team. It all starts up front and the Steelers know it. And people act like the Steelers don't try to take care of their own.

Bell and Brown have no clue what they voluntarily walked away from.

We will do just fine without them.

It was a mistake to resign Foster, but he will be a Steeler for life now, and with all that is going on we need some good will.

They gave him more than I thought.

But this group has good chemistry together. It is nice that they can stick together. Foster is a leader on that line. I'm very happy the Steelers are investing in the O-line. Those guys are make or break it for games.

The next step is Ben's extension, which I'm looking forward to also.

Didn’t matter who else was on the roster. Ben spoke up for these guys. They were gonna get paid. No exceptions.

Some people think that's a bad thing. I'm not one of them.

The reality is the Steelers will be able to overcome not having Bell and Brown. Can't say the same for losing Ben.

Waiting for the Ben haters to hit the dislike button lmao

Guess it's better than nothing as the alternative was cutting him. He's a good tackle with a lot of history with injuries and something like a 5 mil cap hit also.
