People get seduced by hardware. Brady isn't anymore talented than half the guys being mentioned. What he does have that the others don't is the greatest HC ever.

Pair any QB mentioned in this thread with Belichick and they'd have just as many rings if not more.

Montana, Marino or Bradshaw. Just pick Door 1, 2 or 3 with any of them behind it and I'd be happy with who ever ended up leading the team.

Brady is smart at the line of scrimmage, more so than his physical traits.

Hard not to take Terry Bradshaw but my favorite QB ever is Big Ben. I'd take him to be the Steelers all-time forever QB. He could/can? scramble to execute the big play.
My heart rules my head when it comes to football.

While I think that there are superior talents, I think I might actually take Randal Cunningham. He had a cannon for an arm and was an athletic freak. If he is injury free and in his prime, I think he's just too much for most defenses to handle.

I like your thinking here. I considered Tarkenton but Cunningham is a better choice imo.

Lack of superbowls aside, Manning is one of the best ever to lace them up at QB.

To answer your question, Dan Marino. The number one blunder in Steelers history was not taking him, and arm, release, and accuracy were ridiculous. Would have changed an entire decade of losses into wins.

    Absolutely.

Imagine Unitas, Marina, and Montana (picked up via Free Agency) and what they would have done for the Burgh. All amazing QBs and all within arms distance at one point and time.

Manning, probably would have probably had to pull a Mike Ditka and sell the entire draft with next years to acquire Peyton Manning as he was #1 overall pick in the draft, and he didn't disappoint.

Despite some's public opinion, I'm quite happy with Ben at QB for the past decade and beyond. So thankful for that one. I don't think many appreciate what we currently have at Quarterback.

I’m a Green Bay guy and grew up in the 80’s and 90’s, so I’m going with someone I’ve had a lot of exposure with:

    Brett Favre

Probably a modern-era Bradshaw. Tough, talented, underrated leadership. No drama until his retirement years. His Green Bay teams were loaded but I think they don’t go anywhere without him at QB.

Seduced by hardware? Is hardware not the only argument for Bradshaw? Largely the argument for Montana, Unitas? Without the hardware is there an argument for Elway? Brady's pile of hardware is bigger than anyone's, and winning matters. Hardware is a pretty strong argument. But then again. Danny Mariono and Danny Fouts did throw lots of pretty passes,

Talk about complete homers............ Bradshaw? Bradshaw? I love bradshaw to fellas, how could you not but there is probably 20 qbacks easily better than him......... I am taking elway.... You see what elway could do with surrounded by a great team plus he could run............

A long time ago jimmy the greek " famous odds maker" use to go into a bar quite often where my uncle tended bar in vegas and my uncle asked him if the greatest team in history ( 78 steelers) are only 4 pt favorites how are they the greatest team ever?....

Jimmy the greeks reply was " cause dallas is that good and they also have a ton of hall of famers plus starbauch is twice the qback bradshaw is , that is why spread is low.... Make no mistake about it, the 78 steelers are greatest team ever..........
