So, I read an article in the Gazette, which said Tomlin will Play Ben in the first half(and possibly a bit longer), then Batch and Lefty in the second half.
He is not planning on using Jerrod Johnson at all.
What do yinz make of this?
Does it mean Coach T is trying to decide which of Batch, or Lefty to keep, or that he has already given up on Jerrod?
Maybe that he plans on putting Johnson on the practice squad? (I think he would have to clear waivers, but I`m not sure about that.)
I`m just kinda surprised that he is publicly announcing that he will NOT(or at least doesn`t plan to) give J.J. any time in this game.
Personally, I would keep Batch as #2, and Johnson as #3.
Why would he rule out giving the kid any time in this game?
    Thoughts?

Petty much what you said. It seems like his mind is made up one way or another, but which way is it I wonder? He showed some potential and flashes and I'd rather have that than Lefty at this point.

totally agree 100%.. batch #2 .. he won 5 of his last 7 starts.. can anyone name another backup QB to do that? and JJ #3... bye bye byron thanks but as fragile as charlie without his knowledge on finding a way NOT TO LOSE.. hanging in the games close and letting the D or a FG win it in the end.. charlie can manage a game much better then byron.... neither have upside obviously.. both are as good as they will ever be... JJ has some upside potential so to me the choice is simple..

I think its because they consider the 3rd game the big dress rehearsal so the starters play a lot more...and then the #2 backups (and possibly some 3's) play a lot more. Johnson is 4th...he'll get a good bit of playing time in the last game to earn his spot...

    Each guy sits one game
    #1 Charlie sat
    #2 Byron sat
    #3 Johnson sits
    #4 Ben sits

I would. Lefty takes a down and a half to throw the ball. Batch gets it out faster

I think their secret plan is to, actually, let Ben go. Think how much this would throw the other teams off. Talk about something they wouldn't expect. I would rank this move right up there with the old days when guys would hide the ball under their jerseys. Our coaches are genius.

Play or not play this game...I think Jerrod can be developed into a good qb.He has good size and a good arm.I think if byron could be replaced by Johnson easily.

Lol. Very true. I'm sure there is some joke to be made here about Ben getting "it" out a bit too fast on occasions, but best leave that one.

There was only one member of our coaching staff capable of such tactical ingenuity, and sadly he's now busy ruining the Indianapolic Colts offensive strategy.

Hey TTF can you send me a link for how I can watch this tonight? I would like to watch it because I am a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and I feel that as a fan I should watch their games. Also just to make you feel better I would like to let you know that actually it's BEN that will be placed on the practice squad and JOHNSON is the new starter. Now how do you like that?

Here in MD, there is talk that the Raisins are hoping we will cut J. Johnson and they they will sign him. According to the media around here, their back-up quarterbacks have not been impressive so far. (I wouldn't know as I refuse to watch the Rats play.) This is why I think we will cut Batch and keep the other three QBs. However, in some of the Pittsburgh papers I have read that the Steelers may go with only one back-up QB with our injuries at RB and LB and also because our Tight Ends have not been impressive enough behind Heath and we may need to sign someone else.

Actually I think what happened was their backups got rabies or something. Lol.
