Name one player who you think will or should make the final 53 that before camp opened you figured would not.

My choice is Adrian Robinson.. OLB

He gives 100% all the time. So far this pre-season he consistency is getting pressure on the QB. His motor doesn't stop.
The Steelers need another OLB as last year showed.
Dale lolley reports after practice 5 OT Starks,Gilbert,Adams,Beachum & essex stayed working on their sets against one LB..... Adrian robinson.

I'm pulling for the kid and hope he gets some snaps earlier in this weeks game.

    Again, who's you pick?

    J. Johnson

I wanted him (someone, anyone) to, but I didn't think it would happen. Now I do...

I also like this Robinson kid. I read a good fan post from camp about this player on the behindthesteelcurtain.com web site from one of his former high school teachers. He nothing but great things to say about his character and work ethic. So with that and the physical stuff he's shown thus far, I am puling for him too.

David Gilreath. Jury still might be out, we still have two pre-season games. I need to see a little more. But, with not much to choose from at that 5th wide out spot. It's his job to lose.

I could probably name a few, but if I had to name just one I guess it would be David Gilreath. He's shown a lot of promise in camp, and looks to be edging out the others for the 5th WR spot.

I have to name Gilreath, too. I didn't think he was going to be anything at all. Good to be so wrong.

David Gilreath if I have to name just one. Did anyone think he had a chance? Really?
Although Paulson, Robinson, Woods, Golden, Lee and Victorian have made for some tough decisions for the staff.

    Mike Wallace, if he reports!...
    Just kidding(Kinda)...
On a similar, and more serious, note, Rainey.
Just because, I kinda figured he would be the guy that everyone here on the board thought would be the next coming of -name your favorite training camp sensation that didn`t make the team- and he would prove to be over- hyped. (Remember Limas Sweed, etc?)...
Seriously... coming onto a team that was loaded with wide reciever talent(assuming we have Wallace in the fold)...
He`s just too small... he`s a "gimmick" type player...
    Whatever...
He has showed me by his play in the first 2 preseason games(Which is not much of a measuring stick, but, it`s what we have), that he IS a force to be reckoned with, and Haley loves the kid. I can`t blame him.
I`m just saying when we drafted him, I was hoping he could do us some good, but, wasn`t holding my breath, expecting it. He has been a plaeasant surprise to me. And the more I hear about him, and see him play, the better I like him.
P.S. Honorable mention to Gilreath. I didn`t even know he was on our team, before the game against Indy, but he certainly opened some eyes!!!

Keep your eyes on OLB Adrian Robinson from Temple and FB Will Johnson from West Virginia, both are undrafted free agents. I'm going on record and predicting that Robinson makes the final roster.

Ryan Lee. Was a big Beechum supporter before, and kind of scoffed at the people pushing for a UDFA, but its clear from the preseason that Lee is one of our better lineman, and has clearly outplayed Beechum and Essex.

David DeCastro. I heard he was really terrible in training camp, so I figured he'd get the axe in the first round of cuts. But he looked good Sunday. What a shocker!

    ............

I had Robinson pegged for the practice squad all along, and I still think he might land there based purely on numbers (we still have 4 OLBs ahead of him that he's not passing this year without injuries). But now I think there's a pretty decent chance he'll make the final 53. I guess he's my choice.

I'm not totally sold on Gilreath yet. He had one good game, but I'd like to see him do it longer, and against better competition. And I was in Will Johnson's corner from the get-go. I'm beyond thrilled that he can block. And I think he has some nasty to him, too.
