Change his approach in what ways specifically? That is quite a loaded question. For that matter, not just what specifically but where does these changes need to occur?

He can't wait for some players to step up and become the team leaders anymore. Hopefully he is shining up his rearkicking boots.

Generally speaking, letting the inmates run the asylum which he ultimately created.

Specifically, will we see a change of attitude reflecting positively on the field?

    Ah. I see.

He has no choice this season. Another miss from the playoffs will likely end his "Steelers Story". As much as I like him, he has to showcase some authority.

If the standard is the standard, the standard has become the substandard, so Tomlin needs to reclaim the leadership gavel. He needs to be honest with his players and tell them he has made mistakes, but moving forward there will be no more diva privileges.

Tomlin is a C- coach. I'm not sure what you guys can't see with him. It's the same **** every year.

I wish Tomlin could really come heavy with the discipline next year, but these athletes today don’t fear getting cut or getting fined. There isn’t much they can do nowadays.

I agree, this is kind of a loaded question. I think as a coach you have to adjust (change) your approach every season. This upcoming year, I believe he will have felt the heat more than usual, and it will factor in to his "changes."

I voted no, it is pretty hard to change a Leopards spots.

Please Rooney's do not extend this person anymore. He has take this team

and has not improved it, we have become a joke where the prisoners run the asylum.

The only way ol popcorn Tomlin will feel the heat is if Art II doesn't extend his contract. Then I will believe.

Quite a leading question on this board. Tomlin could get possessed by Vince Lombardi and the same people here would hate him.

I'm not sure why he would change anything as HC at this point in his career. He's not been challenged nor pressured to do so lus far. He'll cruise through the remainder of his contract with one lombardi under his belt and call it a day.

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

I do not believe Tomlin is capable of making wholesale changes to his approach - hopefully I will be proven wrong.

I went C because I'll be an optimist today. Heat from the FO, he could care less what the fans think. The lack of discipline mantra is all over the place in the media and former players speaking out. I think that affects the FO some.

But the team won't even fire Butler so those wishing for Tomlin's departure may have to wait for awhile. They hire Austin as a def. assistant and have changed all the position coaches except Olsavsky in the last 2 years, hoping something magically corrects itself. All they're doing is dancing around the issue with Butler. Now he's going to coach the OLBs on top of his DC duties. If they are giving all this slack to Butler, then that tells me Tomlin is on an even longer leash. Someone needs to grow a spine and make some change, but I don't see it happening. (guess I'm not very optimistic after all lol!)

If Tomlin doesn't look in the mirror, the Steelers may as well keep Brown, solely for the purpose of the entertainment value that a circus provides. One thing you can say about the 2018 season, it was entertaining.

I have the feeling that the hiring of Austin is to groom him into becoming the DC next year. They don't want to fire Butler for a couple reasons. Tomlin will have a bigger hand in the D as they slowly phase Butler out. I think he will have the option of staying on as OLB coach next year if he so chooses. Tomlin doesn't deserve a extension. To me he has to prove himself all over again in the next 2 years. If we miss the playoffs this year he needs to be fired.
