Is burns not to big of a project for a 1st rd guy? I know he will go there but to me he struggles to much against the run. He wouldn't be able to help immediately imo.

This is my opinion as well. I just think this is such a talented defensive draft, why take the project?

I wouldn't care if he was a situational pass rusher for a year or two.

It's still early but I got:

    1. CB Byron Murphy, Washington

    2. CB/FS Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Florida.

    Fix our weakness, the secondary.

Burns is done. Sensabaugh is no solution. Pair Murphy with Haden. I'll take CGJ to supplant Sean Davis. Move Davis into the Burnett role. Add Hilton and Edmunds into the mix and I think we have a young secondary looking hungry.

Brian Burns has to not just score big weight wise during the weigh in but also showcase his added weight at the combine. If he can do that, I would consider him at 20. With the added weight, he would simply be too good of an option to pass up on. Nevermind his age, much like Murphy, but he can do something that Bud Dupree cannot, bend.

Regarding the others Mac... I seriously doubt Nasir makes it to us by then. I imagine he is going late first to early second. He is too much like Malik Hooker in my eyes. If he can rip off a mid to high 4.4, kiss him goodbye. Same goes for Germaine Pratt. I believe he also is a combine top performer the same. He is more so a Top 50 pick than Top 75. The remaining others I agree with.

Art Rooney II was on record today and stated he does not see any major area to be zeroed in on in the draft. Among the statements made, to me, this seems a bit too much like damage control. I seriously doubt Mike Tomlin would want to go in with Artie as the corner opposite of Haden. No chance.

Byron on the other hand? That is someone I could get behind. Among the previous Husky DB's who have entered in years past, Byron Jones just might have the greatest potential with starter capability. Kevin King may have been more versatile with length and Sidney Jones was more rounded out in terms of his physique but Byron's ceiling is ridiculous.

Regarding Sean Davis being moved, 100% concur the same. You do not draft a player in the First Round to play a sub package role. Terrell is the Strong Safety. Him playing "musical chairs" would be catastrophic. Keep him there and allow him to continue to develop. Sean can be the third safety and have Chauncey deep. Only major difference I have with this plan is, like what was supposed to happen this season, ease Chauncey in by having him play slot and Sean deep. Once Chauncey shows enough, give him more snaps as single high. However, should he show that from Training Camp on, start from there.

going by CBS sports top 100, and NFL draft scout rankings. burns 28. we pick at 20. nasir 60. we pick at 52. pratt 90. we pick at 84. all 3 right in our range. i know this all can change.

as for burns, no i don't think he's too light but adding even 5 lbs. puts him at 240. one good bar-b-que outing with watt would do that. he is only 12 lbs. under watts weight. not a big stretch there. they could put 10 lbs. of muscle on this kid in no time. the kid is strong and rock solid if you look at his build. just long and lean muscle, good neck, the build is there. the pass rush moves he shows and the ability to change them up with ease shows a lot of talent. those long arms help keep OT's off of him. he shows me that long lean strength. played against some of the top OT's in this draft too.
