The Saints had a chance to bury the Rams early, kicked 2FGs instead of getting TDs, and gave up a FD on a fake punt. A stop there and Rams are done. But they didn't do it. Credit the Rams for coming back. I'll say this, since I can't say the Saints were better than the Rams today. So yes, Rams were better today.

So the PI call had no effect on the game's outcome?

If the officials do their jobs properly, the Saints win that game. That may have been the worst missed call I've seen.

Sure it did, but there were 100 other plays in that game that effected the outcome. Players screw up on probably 1/3 of the plays, but hang everything on the refs.

Dallas was more consistent, but the Steelers were better head to head. Just like the Pats - they're more consistent and win their division, but like the Cowboys of the 70s weren't the best team.

The Giants are better than the Pats - they just don't play them enough and have a harder road to get the SB but when they do.

We can play this all night - the Pats are more successful and disciplined, but not more talented or better. They are better are executing a plan. It's why they're essentially a .500 team in the SB, unlike truly dominant teams like the 60s Packers, 70s Steelers, 80s 49ers or 90s Cowboys.

I get it, you don't like the Pats, so despite all evidence they 'can't be better'. Fine, your free to have your opinion. Done now. Have a nice day.

If the PI is called properly, it's likely the Saints run the clock down and kick a FG on the last play of the game. Perhaps they miss, but more likely they don't and win. Do you see how that call could be used to completely flip the who is better decision if you're only looking at the outcome and the sole determinant?

The outcome doesn't always define the better team, sometimes it just defines which team got the biggest break or which team made a bigger error. The Pats do the best job in minimizing outside factors on deciding the outcome but it's very random at times too. The Steelers didn't beat the Pats this year because they were clearly better, but rather because the Patriots uncharacteristically had something like 10 holding penalties. You could argue the Steelers caused them, but you could also say those calls were more random than other days. It's really a fine line that the Patriots generally are on the right side of - but it's very random. Bogus roughing the passer call. terrible offsides penalty. Those have nothing, absolutely nothing to do with being better.

If Saints O did their job and turned one of the first 2FGs in to a TD they win that game. If the Saints special teams did their jobs and stuff the fake punt. They win that game.

Has nothing to do with liking them or not. Respect what they do and I'll admit they rarely, if ever, beat themselves. I'd bet on them more than any team in today's NFL. But that doesn't mean they're a better team (in the sense I define the word better). If you can't see that, you're entitled to your opinion, but as I said, the outcome doesn't define who is better or do you think the Raiders are better than Steelers or the Lions are better than Patriots or the Bucs are better than Saints?

    Have a pleasant evening.

    So it's all or nothing?

How do you know that if the Saints score a TD on one of the first 2 FG drives, they win? Could the Rams not have gone for it on 4th and goal at the 1 late and then tied it? If the Saints had stuffed that fake punt, how do you know the rest of the game played out the same - maybe the Saints fumble on the next play and the Rams recover it and run it back for a TD.

You're basing it on a false premise?

Clearly if the PI is called, the Saints likely run the clock down and attempt a GW FG on the last play of the game. May not have happened, but more than likely it would have.

There is a reason the NFL said they blew the call (of course they blew others too - Goff face mask - which may have changed the outcome too). That's the point - better based on the score alone ignores some extremely variable factors.

Really - because I believe I said earlier that KC probably lost due to one dolt lining up in the neutral zone which had nothing to do with what the Pats did or didn't do and less to do with anything that occurred on that play.

Once again, if you wonder why this doesn't change.

A record $158.5 million was bet on last year's Super Bowl between the Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles at Nevada sportsbooks.

The owners greed outweighs everything else. Yes I recognize they don't get a cut, but if record betting is taking place, it means record viewership, sponsors, etc, etc. They're all rolling in dough which means more to them than winning.

    Probably happens often,
But when it’s time to change a game it’s called.

I’m not saying he’s not a good coach, but for two decades to dominate other offenses the way he has, he has to have an advantage that’s not within the rules.

Patriots will win without a doubt. Goff isn't consistent enough to hang with Brady.

I just changed my mind, I want the cheats to win because I really think Brady and bellicheat will retire this year if they do.

Then again I don’t really care because we are going to suck so bad next year anyways.

(See edit below) Glad the Saints lost in front of their obnoxious fans - couldn't watch with the sound on with hundreds/thousands of dopey whistles blowing non-stop the entire game. I kept looking for flags or zebras waving their arms. Don't know if the players can hear them but it serves them right to lose like they did. Ban the DH and ban the blasted whistles. :club::banned:

Edit: Can't believe it. All that whistling comes from one guy and it's just his 2 fingers in his mouth type whistling. I'd ban him or at least dump him down a sewer. Can't imagine sitting within a 1000 ft of that idiot. Here's a link.

I agree. Pats have an easy game plan for the Rams. Stop Gurley and force Goff to out duel Brady. I don't see that happening unless Rams defense can get pressure on Brady up the middle. I just don't see that happening either because Bill B. will have a game plan prepared to keep Brady clean.

If KC doesn’t line up off side they win.

If the Saints run the ball in the end instead of passing, time runs down, Rams don’t have enough time, Saints win.

    Fire Tomlin.

As an avid Pirate fan it brings back the terrible memory of 1991-1992 Atlanta Braves.
