Wallace will report because he wants to get paid. He'll take that minimum, as insulting as it is, because no one in there right mind walks away from a couple mill just to show their face. He's made his stand now, made his statement, now he wants his money and he wants to be ready for the season, from day one so as to get more money down the road.

The question will be not whether he'll play but can they come to terms after the tender and what will it entail?

My guess is he will sign on Thursday or Friday hence missing the game because of that "not able to put on pads rule" for a couple of days. This will give him the ability to watch the preseason game from the sidelines, hence learning some more about the offense.

 

OK, here's how it sounds to me now. The Steelers did put the word out weeks ago that all their offers are now off the table. So I'm getting it that negotiations will start with whatever offer the Steelers make now, or conversely, with whatever demand Wallace makes now. Wouldn't that be it? I mean, it doesn't go back to pick up where they left off in negotiations unless they both agree to do that, right?

 

Why don't you take yourself up on your own challenge and find us a TTF quote where he misjudged a player's on-field abilities based on off-the-field actions? I don't read every post on every thread, but I've never seen it myself. In fact, I've seen several instances of the opposite. I've seen him very politely call people out for making claims about a player on the field that they can't possibly back up. The first one that comes to mind was awhile back when someone said Mike Wallace can't break tackles or gain yards after the catch. He simply asked the person what they were basing that on, because everything we have on film seems to suggest the exact opposite. And he spends hours reviewing film and as far as I can tell watches things with a balanced eye.

However, I'm not just trying to back him up here. I put a lot of stock in his opinion, so if he's full of it sometimes I'd really love to know. Please find me some evidence of that so I know that in the future I need to take his words with more grains of salt. Thanks.

 

I hope you're right Flyer. The sooner he gets that tender signed, the more time they will have to get a long term deal done... If that's still what both sides want.

For the most part I completely agree with you (and him) on player matters. look if my gut is right, this all stems from my unpopular opinion of our glorified QB and dislike for him as a person when he's not in a uniform. More (most) specifically his off season stuff and especially the GA incident. Tomlin Era and I went back and forth at nausium about this a while back and TTF dropped in some differing opinions of my own on that subject. TomlinEra said that regardless of my clear claims that although I don't like Ben as a person that he doesn't believe that I can respect him as a player OR that I used to take up for Ben before Georgia on many occasions. He flat our said he doesn't believe me. Ok fine. If I recall, TTF was more or less basically on board with TomlinEra in my opposing opinion. No big deal, it's a very volatile subject that is based soley on opinion in either case since non of were there. I'm cool with that. So, when he basically laughed at my statement that I can separate the person for the player I basically questioned his ability to do so. If anyone thinks I can't do that they are crazy. I hate everything about Ray Lewis, but it's clear the dude is one of the greatest to ever put on pads. Why is that so hard to believe or laughable?

I know everyone has high appreciation for TTF for what he has done in this room and a level headed written demeanor, but he takes little shots like most of here. His opinion should be allowed to be questioned as anyones. No? That's all I did. But, for some reason the wolves are against me. Why, i don't know. But, I'm sure much of it is because of my feeling about Ben. And that's lame... I think some people just can't let that go, so they have a sour opinion of me because of it. Nothing I haven't heard before.

Cool. then I replied back to him with an explanation, an apology of my own about my tone and after reading his response.

Attack? That's a bit of an exaggeration. I never said he attacked and I didn't attack either. I said the word "you". Don't get it twisted now....

 

I completely agree and hope my apology was heard. I'm not even calling you into this anymore. I am just dealing with others that have your back. Cheers...
