Scenerio...IF the Steelers HAD made the playoffs this past week...

The Tomlin press conference would have been just noise...He would have swept the whole incident under the rug..been all giddy about the playoffs...And made up some bull**** story/ lied to everyone...

But...That didn't happen, EVERYONE was frustrated...And they wanted heads...98% of the years last presser were AB questions...

And Tomlin opened up like Jenna Jameson before a porn shoot...Because he knew HIS ASS was not only on the hotseat, but scorching...

Point is...It's so sad that it took something like this because imo, If we did make the playoffs...This can would have been kicked down the road, and there would have been no mention of it...Until the next time...

    Anyone agree?

The fan made a good point yesterday in saying this isn't really about Tomlin the coach anymore more so it being about Tomlin the man at this point.. He's being completely clowned in all this and doesn't even have the balls to confront or fire back at ab and take control.. For Tomlin being this so called alpha he's been a mouse when dealing with bell and ab

I mostly agree. This is where" non losing records" comes in to play. A lot of deep rooted issues get swept under the rug until the losing starts and there are no measures in place to control the fallout.

Tomlin doesn't even know how to spell alpha male let alone be one.

I understand Tomlin sweeping it under the rug though

A: He wants to give AB every chance because Tomlin wants to win
B: Tomlin is a team guy and keeps the drama in the family for the sake of keeping the locker room intact.

Most coaches don’t throw specific players under the bus in the media for good reason.

    This.

There’s an awful lot of speculation about what Tomlin has or hasn’t done here, and in this case there are more common sense explanations.

That’s not to say he’s necessarily handling things well, but to go from not mentioning it at a press conference to concluding he’s not “alpha male” to run the team enough is a bit of a stretch of induction.

Tomlin finally seems to be admitting to some of his failures which is good. It's a good step. The only problem is I have serious doubts as to whether he can fix the mess he certainly helped create. You can't just flip a switch and there has to be major changes throughout the organization for it to even have a chance of improving to the level it needs to be. There are a lot of egos that have to be checked at the door and not stroked. It's gonna take cooperation from even the Rooneys on down. If everyone isn't accepting of blame and willing to make the sacrifices needed it simply isn't gonna get fixed. IMO Tomlin has next year starting today to make things right or his time should be up.

I have been pretty vocal about how bad Tomlin is and how I would love to see him fired. However I do not see how anyone can blame him for the Bell or AB thing......man am I sticking up for MT???? I mean the Steelers tagging Bell is a much more bigger decision that the head coach. Also the Steelers offered Bell a big contract but limited guaranteed money, not sure what any head coach would have done different. As for the AB thing what did he do wrong, honestly after listening to his presser I was rather impressed that in a must win game he stuck by his decision to bench AB even after AB called him Sunday and asked what he could do to play.

I know the HC is responsible for the actions and the culture of the team but I am interested to hear from those who are blaming him what they would of liked MT to do. Again MT has done a lot wrong but I just don't see how he is taking a hit for the Bell and AB stuff. I will say again I am not a supporter of MT I want him gone.......gone.....gone, but just trying to see this another way.

He doesn't have their RESPECT, therefore they won't perform 110% , let alone be decent teammates... If they had any respect for him whatsoever they'd at least be a teammate. What have we seen this season from 2 of our players of higher caliber of talent? EGOS>Teammate. Coaches have to keep those things in check or this **** sandwich happens.

It doesn't seem as if you can fault Tomlin for AB and Bell but what happened, and is happening is a direct result of how Tomlin coaches. Tomlin is a "players coach", he even mentioned Ju Ju playing video games with his kids, nothing wrong with it until a big contract begins to inflate the ego a bit.

Take a look in the work place, I don't know how many worked in a construction environment but has anyone had the experience of seeing a boss/worker friendship evolve? I have and it looks like what is happening with the Steelers. It is fine at first but then the worker begins to take certain liberties and get away with things like extended lunches and breaks.

Next thing that happens is other workers begin seeing it and some start doing the same thing, then the boss reigns in a few while the friend continues to enjoy a discipline free work place. Before you know it you have guys not working very much, finger pointing starts happening and a good crew ends up being split and the job runs past schedule and the boss gets fired or moved.

You can all laugh at that scenario but I saw that very thing happen before my eyes and that is what Tomlin's coaching style looks like. It is a little different than a typical workplace but Tomlin being a friend first with star players and letting things go doesn't go unnoticed and it explains a lot in why the Steelers look lost at times and world beaters at other times. This side show is on Tomlin and he is not the guy to stop it, a new HC needs to be put in charge.

I'm in construction and it's a good analogy. I've seen it myself as well and I'm certainly not laughing. While it have serious doubts that Tomlin is the one to fix it I still hold a glimmer of hope because I'm not sure this cast will respond well to a change from outside. Too many established attitudes. I still feel Munch would probably be the best temporary option if a move was made but we already know Tomlin will see the end of his contract. So our best hope is that he can tear it down enough attitude wise with himself and the rest of the coaches and players to build it back up enough to at least make one more run with him at the helm. It's not gonna be easy a entire philosophical change is needed. It's not a minor tweak.
If he fails we have to move on and start a new foundation without him.

You guys thought AB lost his mind.....https://steelersdepot.com/2019/01/bud-dupree-people-dont-know-how-great-of-a-coach-keith-butler-is/.

There is some hilarious **** coming out of the locker room of the paper champs.
Dupree should either be given a drug test or a lie detector test or both immediately. No wonder he thinks he's good enough to run his mouth. Who is talking to Dupree anyway ....and why?
Foster is claiming no other coach could " handle" that locker room. I'd love to hear his definition of handle.
Last but not least big bad Coty Sensabaugh says he wants to stick around because they have " unfinished business "
Guys are in desperation mode to try and hang on to a job they probably don't have with any other team.
You can't blame them they gotta eat but it's too damn funny.

Who, other than James Harrison has shown disrespect to Tomlin? Most of the comments I hear from the players are one of admiration for him.

Reports coming out that Porter was trying to foster an offense versus defense culture in the locker room and many players on both sides didn't like it. So the moving on from Porter is being seen as Tomlin taking steps to eliminate that type of thinking.

Tomlin needs to go. All you have to do is listen to any post game interview to tell he doesn't have the smarts to be a head coach in this league. How many bad decisions does he have to make to see that. Come on Rooneys.

The more I think about it,
At first I wanted Brown traded, then I started thinking.

Sit him down with Ownership and see what’s really going on.

Basically I’m saying it’s keep Brown or Tomlin.

I know this isn't popular with many but IMO lets wait and see really what happen with AB and ownership before we are all mad at the best WR in the game. I am not sticking or saying AB was/is in the right I am just saying we are all jumping according to what is reported in the media and we all know how the media can roll. jmo
